Brilliant Hue dimmer to save replacing existing lights
Very pleased with the end result as using this seemed a better option than replacing 8 existing GU10 LED lamps in my ceiling. Now it all works nicely with my Philips Hue system. The wiring options are great and should suit most installations. I fitted this in my wall switch socket (more later) and now have a switch there so manual operation is always possible. As others comment, there’s some flickering as you change the dimmer level but IMO it’s not a big issue and typically this is only a momentary event. Now associated a motion sensor with it for automatic operation.Fitting the unit within my plasterboard walls was fiddly. I originally thought it would drop in the space between the walls, but the light switch socket was mounted on a wooden bracket in the stud wall and the unit is too thick to still mount within the remaining space. In the end I cut a 2nd socket out next to it to mount this unit and had to cut out one side of the socket so as to fit it all in. Used a plastic socket to minimise shielding the zigbee antenna, with a blanking plate to cover. Took much longer to fit than I expected. If only they could make it smaller it would be perfect.

CAN'T GET IT TO WORK WITH SMARTTHINGS.
I have connected this device to dim my kitchen lights.Installing the physical unit is easy, but it is the "software department" that is driving me up the wall.I am using an Echo Show 5, with a Samsung SmartThings hub.My Smartthings hub detects the device, connects to it & saves it in the app.... it is saved in the app as a "Thing" & you are able to rename it, but that is about as you are able to get.My kitchen lights are on as soon as it is connected, but I am unable to control the device at all, even though it shows up in my app.It seems like this dimmer needs it's own app to be able to communicate properly with the SmartThings hub, or If you are talented you can write your own program in the Smartthings Delveloper tools.... but I am not a programmer & therefore have no idea how to get this to work as as dimmer switch...There is links where you can download the software for the "smaller brother" of this particular dimmer switch... which is just an on/off switch, but not a dimmer.I did find a link to a website, that might have an app that apparently works... but even google translate was unsuccessful at translating that version of Mandarin. After 4x days of getting nowhere, I gave up.I removed the device & did what I should have done from the start.... I spent a tiny bit more money on a Phillips Hue setup, which works!in conclusion:I am not a programmer & until they are able to include software, or provide an app that works with SmartThings (or any other zigbee hub)... DON'T waste your money!

Works with Philips Hue - but flickers
The dimmer is easy to install and it pairs with the Hue app just as quickly as genuine Hue products (it appears as a dimmable white light in Hue). If you're using Homebridge then it works in Apple Homekit as well. The only problem is that it flickers noticeably when transitioning from one brightness to another, whereas Hue products will transition smoothly (it stops flickering as soon as it reaches the new brightness level). For me this is disappointing and limits what I can use it for but it's still the only Hue compatible dimmer that I've found so far.

Failure - Okay, but not a great product will need to replave
Pairs with hue well, but is a really juddery dimming action, flickering between lights. And turning off via hue it tries to dim off so flickers down to off. It will do for the moment, but I will look for a replacement. Also you have to remove any dimmer switches from the circuit to allow this to work properlyUpdate: item worked for two days then failed, its indicator light worked and responded to hue, but never switched the actual load so pretty useless as a switch! Avoid if I were you

Used for ceiling light. Easy to install and works perfectly with standard wall switch
Very east to install, has 3 connections, live in, live out and a common neutral. This has been placed/hiddne in the ceiling space to control a standard ceiling light. I have a standard 1 gang light switch on the wall. Using Alexa Echo Plus this was fitted, discovered and operating in a few minutes. I like the fact that you can just use the standard light switch to operate the light on/off or you can use Alexa/smartphone for on/off and dimming functions. A simple way to make your lights smart without confusing anyone. I will be buying more! NB This will add around half a second to the time it takes for your light to switch on, which is pretty standard for smart lighting.

No wall switch function
This product does not allow use of the wall switch as per the notes in pic 3.Installation was easy. Smarthings picked it up straight away and functions quickly. Not tested on dimmable led yet.Unfortunately it can't be used where I required it.

Works great with Hue hub via Siri and Alexa
I have this in my bathroom controlling 2 x 4w spots, in the same room I also have a Philips hue led strip and motion sensor. The motion sensor detected the dimmer (in philips hue 2 app) and setup the 2 downlightsThe dimmer does buzz when changing brightness but stops when at required level- this is no different to the dimmer switches you used to get to replace light switches.Am I happy - yes. Would I buy it again, yes.

Really easy to install
A great product and does exactly as it says. Easy to install and Alexa found it straight away. Really easy to set up.
