Ranger Ink Melt Art Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE) 3 Oz: Black

This is the big, chunky type of embossing powder that works best by melting in the Ranger Melt Pot. If you don't own a melt pot, you can also use a heat gun or embossing tool to melt it...you'll just need to use some sort of adhesive medium to stick it to your project so that it doesn't get blown off by the hot air. Also, be careful not to scorch or bubble it by overheating with a heat gun. As with all embossing powders, it is made up of bits of plastic that melt under certain temperatures.Just a few ideas of the ways that I use this product... Pour a puddle of melted UTEE onto a non-stick surface. Before it begins to harden, firmly press a rubber stamp or texture sheet into the melted UTEE. Away from the heat, the UTEE cools quickly and you can remove the stamp and leave the imprint of the design behind. They look great if you touch up the raised edges with Perfect Pearls metallic pigment powders. These design-textured sheets of UTEE can then be used to create one-of-a-kind gift tags, scrapbook elements, jewelry, etc. You can also pour melted UTEE into a jewelry bezel and then stamp or embed other designs or jewelry findings into it. One of my favorite options is use a 2-part silicone mold putty to make a mold out of a special object. Simply press your item (perhaps a decorative, antique button or figurine face) into the mixed putty. After your silicone mold has set up, remove the object from the hardened putty and just pour some melted UTEE into your new mold. Wait for it to cool and then pop out your new piece. You can reuse the mold many, many times. By molding just one unique shape, you can make a whole set of matching buttons or accent pieces. FYI -- Ranger Melt Art makes their own mold-n-pour 2-part silicone putty...but it is MUCH more expensive than any of the other molding putty on the market (I use the Amazing Mold Putty).If you're unfamiliar with any of the UTEE products, take some time to just "play around" with it. I think you'll come up with all sorts of new ways to create with it. And if you're at a loss for ideas, just google different variations of "Melt Art UTEE tutorials." There are some great videos out there.

I initially wanted to try the Faux Cloisonne - I had seen videos on this art, and it looked so easy, I had to try.. Well, it IS easy, if you have the right stuff, and the Ranger Black UTEE is exactly the right stuff. It doesn't take much to make it look thick and glossy, and the end result is a very pretty piece, whether for scrapbooking or to wear as a pendant.

These are Great embossing powder, thick and bold. Have been using them on my big stamps images(butterflies)for making Tags and come out great. Love the product a lot and will order again :)

I don't understand why Ranger is discontinuing making the melt art colors you can't find them anywhere except for the clear and that's at Michaels.

What a nice twist this adds to just simple paper die cuts - great to add flare to Christmas packages

Wow! Can be mixed with the clear and still be black as night!!! Use sparingly and this small bottle will last!

This Embossing Enamel is exactly as described on the tub! Works brilliantly in the melting pot, or simply embossing stamps.I'll never go back to ordinary embossing powders again!Highly recommended.
