Good thought, but fail to meet its purpose to educate toddlers. It is just boring and uninteresting. All books are in real pictures, and the words are too difficult for a 2 years old. I do not think the suggested age should be 18 months plus. Not until 6 years old at least, a child will start to have a concept of what is “in 1912, on its first trip across the Atlantic Ocean, a passenger ship called the Titanic struck a huge iceberg!”, “Exploration of the solar system has been an important part of search for extraterrestrial life”! etc.

This were a gift for my son following his big four year doctor's appointment for being a brave little guy. We had previously gotten him the Thomas and Friends Me Reader book set because he was a fan of the series, but I had no idea just how much enjoyment he would get out the setup - it's been one of the best things he's gotten in a long time in terms of keeping his interest. This likewise has been a big hit, and I wish there were more in the Me Reader series that had at least a little bit of educational slant to them. At least with these books you feel the child's getting a little learning in the process - like he can now recognize Neil Armstrong and glaciers like a champ! For those unfamiliar with the setup, you get a set of books and a Me Reader. The Me Reader has buttons for the books, and then buttons for the pages. So you click on the right story, and then click the buttons to read through the pages in that story. The pages have clear symbol markings on them to match the buttons on the Me Reader, so it's a very easy to use and intuitive process. I've found it helpful as an activity your kids can do on their own during quiet play, or if they want to read a story or two in their room after the lights have gone off. Heartily recommend to parents looking for a gift!

My Grandson loved it! It was for his 4th b/day He loves the pictures and the descriptions, His favourite book was the space book. Would highly recommend Encyclopedia Britannia kids.

She’s obsessed with it Easy to use

Both my 2.5 & 4 yr old boys love this set. My youngest just likes to push the buttons and listen but my 4yo will follow along in the book, sometimes going through the same book repeatedly. Great value and compact for the number of books included. I do with they were a bit more involved but then they wouldn’t be as easy to use for word recognition when learning to read.

My 3 yr old had begun reading on her own and we got her this for Christmas last year. It helped give me some much needed breaks as she could sit and read by herself. It also helped build her confidence to be able to tell me all about the stories, knowing she had heard the pronunciation of any challenging words.
