AQUATICLIFE Smart Buddie Booster Pump for 50-100 GPD Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Systems RO/DI Units

I really like this unit it checks all the boxes for my use case. It fixed my low pressure issue, regens quickly and allows the ro filter to make better water. I really like that this is an all in one unit, and comes in a compact unit. Any other solution requires me to mount pumps, valves, and pressure sensors. This does it all in one nice unit, it has only been in production for 24 hours but it has already reduced my waste brine water from 10:1 to 1.25:1 which is a huge. 100 gallons to make 10 gallons of good water is a horrible waste, this fixed it right up and doesn't look like a rats nest of wires, pumps and water lines. If this holds up for 2 years it will pay for itself.

I normally don't write reviews, but this impressed me. I originally was going to purchase the Aquatec 8800 Booster Pump Kit but then I saw this and Amazon had it the cheapest for under a hundred bucks and Aquatic Life is currently offering a 15$ mail in rebate if purchased in June. So i couldn't resist and ordered with free 2 day prime shipping. Instructions were pretty simple to follow and you can also watch the videos for installing. I have a BRS 150 GPD dual membrane 6 stage RO/DI unit. I have 68 PSI coming in from my supply line. This boosted it to 90 PSI. I like that it has built in Automatic Flush valve that flushes the membrane for 18 seconds every time the unit is activated so that I don’t have to manually do it, and automatic shut off. I figure if any parts fail at least I still have a booster pump that I can remove and use for fewer than hundred bucks vs the 149 for the Aquatec Booster kit. Right? Anyways, so for the test.My TDS is 239 and Pressure is 68 PSI going into filtersWith booster the pressure is 90 PSI going into MembranesOut the First Membrane TDS is 4, Percent Rejection = 98%Out the Second Membrane TDI is 6, Percent Rejection = 97%Out first stage DI TDS is 0Out second stage DI TDI is 0I also connected another TDS meter to the output of the unit since someone reviewed that they were getting 5-6ppm after the unit and I wanted to make sure mine didn’t do that or else I would return it. But TDS coming out of the Smart Buddie was 0. So far so good. Now for the best part. I tested how long it would take my 150 GPD unit to produce 1 gallon of RO/DI water pushing 90 PSI through the membranes and it took 5 minutes and 35 Seconds. So if my math is correct, converting everything to seconds. There are 1440 Minutes in 24 Hours. Which converts to 86400 Seconds and 5 Minutes 35 Seconds converts to 335 Seconds. So 86400 / 335 = 258 GPD? Impressive! So it boosts my output give or take 100 GPD over the 150 GPD rated. That’s just my 2cents. For now I love the unit and will update if anything changes.

Recovery is faster pressure is better easy hookup. Ultra quiet can hardly hear it run. Great for RO drinking water as well. Love it love it!

I want the preface this by saying this is an absolutely amazing product and raise our RO membrane pressure from 18 PSI all the way up to 90 psi. It works extremely quiet and the auto shut off and auto flush are also amazing feature to have. However, all those amazing automation is also the source of my irritation. The biggest problem with the RO buddy is the lack of customization. Everything on this unit is completely automated and there is nothing you can really do to change any of the setting.It would be so amazing if it allows us to control the PSI setting going into the RO membrane as well as how long and how often the flush cycle should occur... With that said, this is still an amazing product and I would highly recommend this to anyone.

The system works really well. I’ve had it for over a year and have not had any issues. It is very nice that it is one complete unit and it works very well with my existing RO system. And their customer service is extremely good, I contacted them not because I had an issue with the system, but I had questions about my home water system as a hole and how it would interact with the unit and they responded quickly and provided a lot of very good information. I would absolutely recommend this booster pump.

Using the booster pump significantly reduced the amount of RO waste water while filtered water production increased. Because the total number of gallons passing through the filtering system is reduced, filter replacement is less frequent. That saves money in the long run. The hook up was easy using the color coded RO tubing and press fit connectors.

The media could not be loaded. Works great! Before installing this booster I was only getting a trickle of clean water hardly that, more like just droplets I got 1/2 gallon in three hours. After the booster I got 5 gallons of clean in one hour! Highly recommend.
