Edifier R1850DB Active Bluetooth bookshelf speakers

Bought these to use on my CD player and can't fault the quality and build of these speakers. Really good and powerful sound for bookshelf speakers. Only small issue is the remote control, seems rather small and and plain.

I'm using these speakers as my main TV and media centre speakers. They are great for connectivity via Bluetooth and the optical input cable is just long enough to reach my speaker stands without having too much excess. The sound quality is extremely high and the sound is very clear. The speakers are very weighty and look great in my all black living room aesthetic. All in all with the deal that I got on these speakers. I would say they are the best value for money purchase I have made for my living room in the time I've lived in my current house. 5.5 stars.

Happy with my purchase; I acquired a Wii Mini which dramatically improved the sound.

I bought these to connect to a newly bought 65 inch smart TV. The sound from the TV was pretty good compared to others I have had but as they are so slim now there is no room to put in a decent set of speakers. Connected optically they sound just amazing, good punchy bass and clean crisp treble, just a really good open sounding set of speakers amazing for the size of them, there is a conection for a sub but they really dont need it. Connect a MP3 player by bluetooth and get the same great sound. A much better purchase than a sound bar as most I have heard are really lacking in bass. Highly recommended...........Quick update, the speakers still sound great but people have complained about the remote which I have to say leaves a bit to be desired even though it works fine its a bit....odd but I have bought a One For All remote to clear up the stack of remotes I had and although Edifier are not listed in the codes the One For All it has a learning function which works great so I now have a more taditional type remote for them...all good

I bought these speakers a while back and the more I listen the more impressed I am. They are supposedly for use with a computer, but I think they are way better than that. The response is flat and the sound is crystal clear, I listen mainly to orchestral music and they are perfect for that. Well worth the money.

Awesome speakers worth every Penny

Great speakers, but Bluetooth stopped working after 3 weeks. Returned the product.

The speaker and sound quality are impressive! Edifier has a lot of speakers to choose from, just BE CAREFUL that the model you're looking at has all the options you're expecting. There's a reason one model might be $20 or $50 cheaper than another. An "active" speaker has an amplifier built into it; a "passive" one will only go as loud as the device it's receiving input from can go. If you want great sound standing alone, then get a powered ("active") speaker system like this one. Also, if you're going to (or think you might in the future) hook up a powered subwoofer to it, then pay attention to the specs; not every model has a sub-out. This particular model was the lowest price point that had: Bluetooth, Active (powered amp built in), and subwoofer out, and let me tell you, these speakers are crystal clear and the bass is great too. I'm pushing a powered 12" subwoofer as well and it'll put you into the next room. This model also has various inputs as well. As for Bluetooth, click the symbol on the remote OR you can cycle through inputs by pressing the volume knob on the back of Speaker 1 inward until you see the blue glowing light on the front side of Speaker 1. Discovered that by accident and so glad I did when I misplaced the remote. (It's discussed in the manual and even labeled on the back, but who reads that stuff right?) If the blue light is on, it's discoverable and you can connect via your cell phone or your desktop computer from the Bluetooth settings. Works great streaming from Spotify either on the PC or iPhone. If you're playing from a non-BT device, then the aux cord that comes with this model can plug into that device then into the RCA inputs on the back, just be sure to cycle through the inputs on the remote or volume button. If you're playing from your PC via Bluetooth or RCA, don't forget that your keyboard has music playback controls on it! Upper right hand corner or somewhere else. You don't have to click into your app or have the remote, just tap it from there lol Only gripe: I wish the knobs were on the side instead of the back. Minor annoyance that you may experience; however, after a day or two you won't have to see back there to know what knob is which. As for the price, it's a minor chunk of change for those of us just looking to listen to music in the office or den at home, but man, I don't regret it at all! Spending $199 as opposed to $129, $149 was a serious debate, but that extra $50 gets you a powered, sub-out, BT capable, remote controlled, kick-ace sound system.

Las compre para una PC sin tarjeta de sonido. Quise sustituir el clásico 2.1 que tienen un sonido muy básico. Probe muchas marcas dentro del rango de las que pueda manejar en un escritorio personal. Estas así como las R1855DB (de acabado negro piano), me gustaron mucho, no tienen los mejores agudos cosa que es de mi agrado, lo suficientemente buenos para hacer presencia "sin cansar", además de que trae regulador de agudos y de graves. Las facilidades de conexión cubren todos los requerimientos de los aparatos tecnológicos orientados al público en general. Las complemente con el Subwoofer Edifier T5, el cual simplemente es excepcional y para mí lo mejor en Subwoofers después de probar varias marcas. Dada la excepcional experiencia de sonido, regalé el Kit a mis 3 hijos. Tomo mis decisiones para comprar en base a las recomendaciones de otros usuarios y quise compartir mi experiencia. Saludos!

Spoiler Alert - If you are a BassHead simply don't bother(But if have sufficient budget then keep reading will describe further) If you are a lover of clean music on warmer and lively side just go for it or 1700Bt models. Pros- 1-Loud enough for 10ft*20ft room , but won't be sufficient for a party 'mahool' where there is lot of noise. Keep reading solution is there :) 2- Sounds Sweet and pleasant. If you want to test their true nature check out the - ACOUSTIC THROWBACK playlist on Spotify. These top when played Acoustic songs like Album Covers, or MTV unplugged kind of songs and will obviously struggle when played EDM. But not until volume crosses 80 percent. 3- Build is rock solid as per expensive speaker grade and looks are clean and minimalistic. 4-Remote control just works. I am not going to complain about it being light or cheap or whatever. It just does what its meant to do which is volume control, AUX/PC/Bluetooth/Optical mode switch and song play, pause and next, turn off, and mute. 5- Has abundance of modes for input including AUX cable, Bluetooth and Optical which gives plenty of options. 6- Has Subwoofer output(you need to purchase one) which is kind of rare in this beginner Audiophile/Monitoring speaker niche. So yes now bassheads can not only get quality sound output but also attach extra subwoofer and enjoy BASS. 7- Has Bass ,Treble and Volume control knobs so you can modify according to your taste. 8- Are heavy so not only helps in Stabilisation at high volume but also gives a confidence of built quality. 9- Just trust me on these they look great on a computer table!! I just you take a break and go watch the video on Youtube-Curator Cast to get a feel of everything I said above. Cons- 1- PRICEY !! considering there are many speakers who can give 85% if not 90% of value what these can deliver. 2- Distorts after 80 % volume but only if Bass is set to full. Which is something its not meant to deliver as its meant to have natural audio. 3- If you want this model then obviously you wish to be future proof with respect to adding Subwoofer. So the effective price will cross 24k. But I am sure thats worth it to many. So if you are not interested in adding subwoofer save your money and buy the 1700BT model. They are almost similar considering 1850 have 70 W RMS and those have 66 W. Now for more info and queries drop a comment on my Youtube video. I would be happy to provide any support.

I purchased these speakers on special as a replacement for some other Edifier speakers. The sound from these speakers are very good and sound nice and bright. I have these speakers connected to my PC via optical cable and they are great for listening to music, watching youtube videos and movies, as well as Twitch streaming. Very happy with purchase and look forward to the years of use these will provide
