A kitchen must have
This is my favorite piece of cookware. I tried to cook everything in it and it’s for a great price because not everybody can afford the expensive cast-iron cookware but this right here it’s elegant looking cooks. Well it’s got that nice way to it that you would expect from cast-iron enamel. It’s a must buy for me.

So far so good
This pan arrived in an outer box that had been smashed and retaped, but the inner box was undamaged and the pan and lid had no chips. It's a nice light cream or off-white color inside and out, with what appear to be bare dark cast iron rims, which is probably good because the rims might be the areas most prone to chipping. I would have preferred the gradient blue color but only solid white was available when I ordered. The dimensions are given and I have other cast iron cookware, but this 3.3 quart casserole/braiser pan is larger and heavier than I expected. It's a wide, heavy pan and the handles are large enough to grasp easily with potholders. This is my first enameled cast iron and I like it so far. The flat bottom fits my largest cooktop eyes well. I hand washed it, warmed it in a 170-degree oven, and wiped the rims with some canola oil. I've cooked a meatless chili recipe in it which turned out well without sticking, mostly cooked on low. (I cook regular chili in a larger pot.) Hand washing easily cleaned it up like new; no discoloration so far. i'll wipe the rims with a tiny bit of oil again so they won't rust. I'll try to update my review if there is any chipping or other problem after I've cooked with it more.I intended to let it stay on top of my 30" range, but it takes up a lot of the space so I'm undecided on that. The photos show it (on a silicone hotpad to avoid scratches) on my cooktop. As with my other cast iron cookware, I'll have to be careful to set it down very gently and not slide it on my glass cooktop. The directions say to hand wash it, do not use metal utensils (i'm using Vovoly silicone ones), and use only low to medium heat when using on a cooktop, heating it gradually and avoid sudden temperature changes. It is safe in the oven up to high temps. Any stains should be cleaned with baking soda and water, but I've had none so far. It's a pretty pan when new. I hope it doesn't chip in use as some reviews have stated.Edit to update:Still so far so good, but I'm saving the box in case it chips in normal use before the return window ends. I've now cooked a mini pot roast with vegetables, searing the beef in a bit of oil on medium and then cooking on low. Turned out great and was a breeze to hand wash with Dawn dish detergent. Still looks new. However, I'm now wondering if the size and weight will be problematic for me. This is a very heavy pan even for cast iron.I later ordered a 2.25-qt similar pan in another brand and it's much easier to handle and store, but it doesn't hold enough for some one-dish meal recipes. Holds plenty for a large side, though.

Immediately chipped on the handle
Ok so beautiful pan with 4 stars , I have the French brand everyone loves, I use them 3-4 times a week and they look brand new still, except the tan color the white turns from use. Right now I’m sitting at 4 stars because it could have been a simple one spot defect, and it’s not enough for me to do an exchange on a pan this price. So I got the pan yesterday, I watched the guy set it down carefully, I made baked pasta in it last night. So I brought everything to 350 degrees after warming to 150 , I have induction stove so I can guarantee you it was 159 warming for 5 min, then 350 to cook hamburger. Then down to 250 to add sauce and noodles. Then the 375 degree oven for 30 minutes. Some time during the over a small chip flew off the handle corner.Ok cons . Obviously the chipping, but I don’t mind for what I paid unless it gets crazy or on the inside. This pan is less than half the size of the biggest French one I have, yet weighs more.Pros. The price and what the pan is and does. It’s a great size it also lets me know that I do indeed have uses for the $400 dollar French one. if this one gets horrible I can purchase one. Most likely it’s going to go to my neighbor in a few months and I’ll get the brand I want. This is a great pan for baked spaghetti, you can fit a pound, chicken baked over rice in the oven, you can easily fit 5+ chicken pieces. You can probably shallow fry some chicken, pork chops ect. It’s a versatile pan you can use a lot. If you can’t afford the fancy ones these will do for now.

Love this casserole skillet!
I'm so happy with this skillet. I own a Le Creuset 9 quart dutch oven that was gifted to me 15 years ago which i love and won't let any family member use since they're careless cleaning. I wanted a smaller one for day to day meals and decided to give this one a try. I've used it 5 times and treat it just like my LC. The key to easy cleaning after you use it (I browned chicken in mine and there was brown bits stuck on it) is to add warm water to the skillet after you've removed the food and let it boil gently to release the bits. It does come off and then after 3 min or so, i turn the heat off and let it sit there a little longer while i'm cleaning up. Then wash normal with dawn dish detergent and it comes out spotless. Just so you know it's normal to eventually have brown shadowing over time. The Le Creuset does the same thing - its normal. Very happy, and the off white, creamy color is also pretty. I prefer it over the stark white that some people mentioned they would have wanted.

Heavy, versatile, and affordable
This is a great stove to oven option for one skillet meals or large sides/casseroles. I bought it to prepare green bean casserole for thanksgiving and have used it consistently since. Very affordable. Good size and depth, heavier than I expected.
