Easy to use with a 0.6 Nozzle
Printed with 0.3mm layer height on a 0.6 Nozzle. 10c higher than I'd print PLA at with a 50C (glass) bed and I found this filament very easy to use.Bed adhesion on glass was great, surface finish was good to, it perhaps strings a little more than regular PLA (probably due to the higher temp) but if I increased my retraction settings the stringing mostly stopped. Doesn't bridge that well on my printer (again probably due to the higher temp) but I bet if I tweaked temps and cooling i could make it better.I found it quite grippy in my filament feed tubes, So if you get feeding problems check it passes through freely. One of the easiest woodfill filaments I have tried, well packed, and the smell when printing is amazing.

Good quality prints with a surprisingly wood-like feeling
On the spool it looks like wholemeal spaghetti and it's about as brittle. In printing it's goot good initial adhesion at a bed temp of 60C and hot-end of 200C. Layers adhere well too. It can get a bit "cob-webby" on bigger prints, with fine threads pulling off as the print head moves around - possibly fixable by changing retraction values but it doesn't affect the overall print so I haven't botherd to tinker from standard. The matt texture gives a much more tactile finish than standard PLA filament and put the slght ridges created by the print layers to good effect. Prints have good accuracy with nuts/bolts working as designed and turning freely. Printed structures feel robust even at 20% infill and the overall appearance looks a lot less home-printed than with standard PLA. Of course the wood appearance is better suited to certain types of object than others so it's not a perfect all-rounder but I've been very pleased with the outcome and would happily recommend.

Great wood-PLA - takes some getting used to.
I've only printed a few models but this appears to be a very good wood-impregneted PLA - it certainly smells like real wood when printing and gives a lovely wood-esque finish.I have found that bed-adhesion is slightly more difficult to get right on this PLA. You need to ensure the nozzle clearance is very tightly calibrated before each print with this filament as it needs a good 'squash' into the bed to make it stick down.I have also found this filament to be quiet tempremental - in just a few hours of use I've had a nozzle blockage and two breakages. I certainly wouldn't recommend this for un-attended printing.Still giving it four stars as I consider this to be a speciality filament and hence worthy of the extra supervision.Update - having been tweaking my process with this wood filament, I have found you need to use at least a 0.6mm nozzle to get reliable prints on this. I assume because there are actual wood fibres in the filament, any that are slightly larger then usual can block the 0.4mm standard nozzle. Since switching to 0.6mm nozzle, I've been mostly printing problem free.

Very frustrating with constant clogging
This used to be my favourite brand of filament. Sadly it has gone down hill over the last few weeks. Constant clogging of nozzles, 16/17 hour prints and the nozzle will clog for no apparent reason and very unexpectedly, there will be no warning of a clogging nozzle such as several weak layers before it eventually stops extruding, it will just stop. Then you have to dismantle the intire print head to sort the problem, the filament turns into a thick gloopy mess in the hotend almost like tree sap, it makes it impossible to remove the filament from either end of the hot end as its just so sticky and sticks to everything in the print head, leaving a coating of sticky stuff that its impossible to remove in a hurry. This is the most frustrating thing when you are trying to run a business using this filament and I have customers waiting for orders to be produced in wood filament.

NEW EXTRUDER CAP!!!
I received the product the day after purchasing which was definitely a good start. After loading the filament and starting the print, it was apparent that there was a problem. With very little filament being extruded, it was clear that the filament was getting clogged and solidifying before it had the chance to extrude. I decided to take the extruder apparent as it was a real mess. After speaking to a few people and posting it on my Instagram account, I had been told that if I wanted to use the filament I must first swap the 0.4mm extruder to 0.6mm. I went and ordered this and it began to work great. I left it to print over night and after several hours I went to check the progress. Disaster. The print had failed and the filament had clogged so much that it ruined the extruder cap. After a long time spent cleaning up and after wasting alot of material I decided to purchase the 0.8mm and 1mm extruder cap in hope that there would be no clogging. This worked great when working on a lower speed and slightly higher extruder temp. So even though I lost alot if the filament and ruined the 3D printing bed, the filament was good quality and printed well.

AMOLEN Wood filament
Summary: This is real, high-wood-content filament. It works well, and takes sanding and wood finshes. To get the best results you do need to modify some printing settings, as the high wood content affects the extrusion.Wood finishing: Photo 1 shows clear varnish applied. Photo 2 shows Medium Oak stain, followed by varnish. It sands well, and looks nice with the stain.Printing: I normally print at 95% extrusion rate to reduce blobbing and stringing, but as you can see in Photo 3, this results in chronic under-extrusion when bridging. The block in the foreground was printed with 110% extrusion rate. It looks much better.Material strength: The high wood content reduces the strength, as there's less plastic in it. Photo 4 shows what happens when you bend the filament - the wood stuff snaps, when ordinary PLA will just bend. You need to adjust your designs to have more material in the parts that need to be strong, and I suspect that "live hinges" are going to be a non-starter!

Really nice filament
As I use wood filament to use for master moulds and really nice an smooth when I sand it down for a better mould

OTTIMO PRODOTTO CONSIGLIATO (CREALITY ENDER 3)

Stampa 210)
