Really cool and fun!
This is a great product to encourage the little one to learn letters and numbers, and to write! He's too young to understand the different functions and games on it, but I'm sure he will soon learn when he's older. So at the moment he needs parental supervision. He's only 2. He enjoys the free draw function and also enjoys tracing the shapes and letters. The only fault in this machine would be the screen. There's no back light, so even I have a problem seeing what's on the screen. It's much too dark. Perhaps a different model has a back light? I opted for no packaging, and when it arrived it looked new. Some others complained that their looked second-hand. Ours arrived and looked fine and works fine.

Great toy
I had to finally get rid of this and donate it. My 5 year old has playing with this toy for sometime. She loved learning from the tablet. The buttons were easy for her to figure out. Age range 3-5. Battery life was great.

Good learning tool
My 4 year old really likes this. The only problem I have is I wish there was a backlight so it can be seen in low lit areas.

Granddaughter is one and she loves this toy. It has been through a lot of rough play since Christmas, and still looks good and works well.

Great device if -ONLY- it were able to be easily visible without being in an extremely brightly lit room that does not cast -any- shadows so the child can see the small touch-pad with the bulky Mr. Pencil (my eyes get tired from straining after 5-10 min. without excessive lighting). The 'Contrast' can be changed with a +1 or -1 so do not expect anything from that (bad to worse). The pencil is nice but a bit awkward with the cartoon face bulging out and interfering with the child being able to hold the pencil semi-properly. Again, very odd that an educational company overrides common sense and ease of use for goofy marketing. The string attaching the pencil is in the middle of the device so no worries for left or right handed children. A finger can be used as well but that defeats the purpose of developing writing skills. LOTS of activities (Uppercase/Lowercase Letters, Numbers 1-10, Only (6) Shapes, Phonics & Basic Spelling (3 letter words) Difficulty 1-3), and you can Free-Draw (sort of). There is a 'Repeat' button which is awesome since I have a hard time correctly hearing what the device is saying (letter & word sounds). So when it says, "Spell C-A-T", and it sounds like C-A-P or M-A-P or P-A-T or F-A-T you can check-it ('Repeat') after getting it wrong. Would be great if they had more shapes and surprised there are so few from an educational company that teaches a lot more shapes on their DVD's/Tutorials, and learning to draw shapes is a great way to develop hand-eye coordination as well. In addition it can be a less frustrating than working with the alphabet and at least a change, "Shapes Are Everywhere." Learned that from their DVD.. =DOurs arrived with the batteries already in it and the device was -very- warm to the touch in seventy+ degree weather. So not sure why they would ship it with batteries installed when the device will sit in extreme temps of hot/cold. Glad we were home when the package arrived. Scary to think what would have happened if it was left on the front porch in the full sun for hours. =,(Felt like it deserved (2) Stars as it is so frustrating buying and wasting money on educational material/devices that are seriously lacking in so many basic areas. Like -NO- Subtitles on their DVD's, Hinged Devices that snap off, and the worst is when an electronic device forces you to replace batteries that are not even 1/3 used (1.5v AA and stops when it drops to 1v). If our lil one could leave a review I am sure he would give it a (4) Star rating. So leaving a (3) Star Rating seems fair. =P_Nice Concept In A Bright Laboratory Beta Tested By Adults_
