MTEL Foundations of Reading 90 Teacher Certification Test Prep Study Guide (XAM MTEL)

This book helped me pass the MTEL the first time! I even saw some questions on the MTEL that were very similar to the ones in this book. It teaches you how to analyze questions, not overthink them, etc. I highly recommend!

Questions aren't realistic to the actual exam. I got all these questions correct but failed the MTEL my first time taking it. There are better materials to study from than this book. There's also many typos. For $155 per test, it is important that you find a different study guide and forget about this one.

This book is a little out dated, some of the questions were definitely based on old standards. It does give a good sense of what to read to prepare for the test.

I bought this book and used it to study for the Foundations of Reading Mtel. I used it with the "Beating them All" book by Boosalis. This book has a lot of good material and practice test is helpful especially the one with detailed answers as to why the answer is "d" for example. It is a lot of reading a much time should be given but it was done very well. The other book was a good complement. I would not use one by itself. The exam is hard expecially if there is no background in education.

The layout is nothing like the test. The questions aren't realistic! Very disappointed for such an expensive book.
