This thing is a tank
Despite having some issues to start with, I like this chair. It's solid. Sometimes a little too solid. Namely in the ankle department. Hoo boy when you make a wrong back-swing with your leg and shwang your ankle off one of the wheel legs. You'll be bent over for a good three minutes just working it out. When I was setting mine up, I noticed everything on the chair was metal. Great sign. Except for the one handle to adjust the back rest. Not good. Especially when it snapped right off in my hands on day 1. I had to get a whole new seat sent in because it's an irreplaceable part. Much like the rest of this chair. And when the woman on the phone said I'd have to get a pipe wrench to disengage the friction lock holding the cushion to the center beam on the base of the chair... I called my father. And he wrenched them apart and I had my new cushion on in no time. All in all, it's a great chair for folks who need something sturdier to sit in. Plus, no arms, I hate chair arms digging into my jelly rolls. And this seat fits the bill.I'm taking a point off for every bandaid on my heels, though.

Beefy and Comfy
I have only had this chair for a few days, but I am thrilled with it. Like many others, I am working from home during the pandemic. I was sitting on a 20-year-old very cheap task chair that was never intended for long-term use, so I am comparing this chair to the old cheap one that was disintegrating out from under me. However, I am also comparing it to chairs that my work purchases that are twice as expensive as this. This chair has a firm and comfortable seat with several inches deep of firm, molded foam. I believe the seat is wider and deeper than many others but am not sure - definitely deeper and better than what my work purchases. I am short, but I imagine if you are tall, this may be more comfortable for you than other chairs because of the seat depth. We are also currently overweight in our family so we appreciate the capacity, strength, and stability of this chair, but I think it will still be comfortable when we return to a normal weight. The controls are built strong and work smoothly. It is definitely a heavy chair with a heavy base, built well, and it was easy to assemble. The wheels work well, so far, on my low pile carpet. I purchased the task chair version with no arms because of our antique furniture and small office space - didn't want to overpower the room or have arms constantly bumping into the antique desk. It is twice as comfortable as the "executive" chairs my work purchases for the desks at work and half the price. It is so comfortable, I stay seated longer because I no longer hurt when I am sitting. I have to set a timer/reminder for myself to get up and move/go for a walk. The first evening I had the chair, I assembled it after work, but was excited to try it, so I sat down at my desk for a bit. It was so comfortable, and I had no back and knee pain, that 4 more hours went by and I didn't even realize it. The next morning I was getting emails asking why I was working so late and I was too embarrassed to reply that I was enjoying my new office chair and lost track of time. Occasionally, I do have to work a longer 12ish-hour day and this chair will be a champion for those days based on my experience with it that first night. I am going to request this chair for my desk when I return to my regular office.1-year later: It has been a year since I left this review and it is still the best chair I've had. I have lived in this chair in my home office 7 days a week for the last year. It has made such a huge difference for me. And it still feels and looks like the first day it sat in my office. The foam has been so durable it still feels like day one. Now that I am in my work office a few days a week, I can really tell the difference. I don't hurt after a day in this chair like I do after sitting all day in the one at my work. Today, I am requesting one of these for my work office.

Built like a tank
I'm 6'0" and roughly 300# (42×30 pants, 3xl shirts). I bought a gaming chair for my home office in April 2020 when we began remote work. It was comfy, but it broke recently. I actually tried to go to stores to try some better chairs out, but nobody had any out of the box and assembled to try. So I went on Amazon and looked at a lot of reviews. I decided to try this chair based on pretty good reviews, weight capacity (500#), and price. So far, I'm pretty impressed. This thing is an absolute tank. It's not quite as comfy as the chair it's replacing. But it's not bad at all. You can let the back recline, or lock it anywhere within it's range of motion. The chair, itself, does not tip back & forth. Only the seat back (again, if you want it to). This chair feels like it has the sturdiness of my chair at work (an Allsteel #19, which I've sat in at my desk for the past 15 years, and shows no sign of slowing down).I was a little concerned about the seat width, being narrower than my other chair. But it's fine for me. I added the armrest package and installed them at the widest width. I've got plenty of room, even if I have both my Leatherman multi-tool and cell phone on my belt.Assembly could hardly have been easier. For the chair itself, I wound up using just a Phillips screwdriver. When I installed the arm rests, I used a 12mm ratcheting wrench (a 12mm socket wrench would have been a slightly better choice, but this worked fine).I suspect this will be a good chair for my home office for a long timeI'll update this review as necessary.Update 11/24/21:Minor issue. The legs have some sharp edges that can cut your heel (see photo). It wouldn't be a problem if I was at work wearing shoes & socks. But I usually telecommute bare-footed. So I'm going to have to round off these edges with a file or some sandpaper or my Dremel tool.

This chair is amazing!
The chair came in three pieces - the base with the wheels already on it, the seat already assembled (and, like me, it carries most of its weight in the seat) and the back. There was also the gas cylinder and the chair back adjustment knob.Assembly was as simple as putting the gas cylinder in the hole in the base (do not press the button on top!), setting the seat on top of it, then taking the screw out of the tongue on the chair back, slotting the back into place, replacing the screw where it was to make sure it can't fall out of the slot and then putting in the seat back adjustment knob. This thing is rock-solid sturdy.I've put together a lot of furniture - including two office chairs recently - and this was BY FAR the easiest and quickest that I have ever done. I would not hesitate to buy this chair again... and may end up getting one for my sewing and crafting table just for comfort.
