Asoka ETH500
I got this device to add another computer to my home network. Currently I am using several Asoka 9650s, and they have worked flawlessly. The ETH500 boasts a much higher Mbps rate so I decided to give it a try. Just for fun, I ran a speed test on one of the computers currently using the 9650. It produced a rate of 10.21 Mbps. I installed the new ETH500 and ran the test again. The result was 22.35 Mbps. (My ATT Uverse connection is for 24 Mbps) This may wind up costing me some money as the temptation now is to replace all the old models with the new PlugLink. Before to going to the PlugLinks, we experienced regular loss of connection issues with our wireless router. In the two years since adding the PlugLinks, these problems have disappeared completely. The ETH500 is an excellent product!

Good product - lost connectivity after a day - then OK after a reset
This product works pretty well and is easy to setup, although I can't seem to get 500Mbs over my power lines (my house is only 20 yrs old so it should be better). I did have an issue where it lost its configuration after a day. I reset the devices and it has now been up for a few days with no issues. I would suggest this product if you can get a good price.

They absolutely suck.
I bought three units with the idea of hooking one to the cable modem and having two to access via power line connections out to the internet. Only one would work with the attached unit and internet speeds where dismal. This is on a cable modem where I routinely get >120MBS wired download speeds. I went onto the Asoka website and asked for help. I got absolutely no response. Just pitiful product and support. I Finally solved my problem with a couple of TP Link wireless A/C/G/N PCI express cards. I'm able to get 120MBS download speeds via A/C wireless standard. Save your money and stay away from the Asoka products. They absolutely suck.

This device has connectivity limitations and is not "plug and play". Also, there is no Windows 8 support for the configuration utility. An ethernet connection between my cable modem and a wireless router in an adjoining room was the only plug and play option that worked. Adding additional PlugLinks for etnernet connections to Windows 8.1 laptop did not function properly and could not be configured.

I have had better luck with the TPlink powerline plugs
Short life span for mine. I had a few months of decent transfer rates before 2 of three stopped working. The company appears to be defunct now.I have had better luck with the TPlink powerline plugs.

This unit works (I've had it for quite some time) as long as the house is cool. Unfortunately get over 75 degrees or so in the house and it is likely to fail, it seems to have heat problems.

Very pleased with performance and easy to install
We used this to reposition our internet phone (Vonage) away from our modem. It works extremely well. We also use it to keep our son's PlayStation wired while away from modem.
