Q: Is this the same substance sold in the 15 oz. plastic tub "tanglefoot tree insect barrier tub"?

No it is different. Both are sticky but the tree stuff is brown/tan while this material is clear. This works better for deer flies than the tree tub.

Sure, and if they are smart they will put a paper next time to sit again 😀

No. Appears this ONLY works on Deer Flies aka Yellow Flies .Does not appear to work on any other flies. I placed it at horse stalls and it did nothing.

Q: I just received he Tangle-Trap Brush On, but I can't unscrew the top. Any solutions other than putting the can under the hot water faucet?

Try using channel locks, a type of wrench to unscrew it.
