Well worth the investment (if you eat brown rice all the time)!
My siblings and I all pitched in to this for my mother. Cuckoo is quite the prestigious brand in Korea, so when other Korean mothers found out they were a little jealous! I was a little hesitant to get this because it didn't have that many reviews and it was expensive, but it was definitely worth it! My mother loves cooking brown rice, and this makes it so easy. Brown rice tends to be pretty hard, but this makes it soft. I have a picky little nephew that loves to eat white rice, but he never noticed when we gave him the brown rice. It has a bunch of different settings for different rice types. Make sure to pick the right one! If you cook white rice with the brown rice setting it'll become too mushy. Also, I would recommend really sticking to the different water lines on the pot (it has different lines for white and brown rice). Just adding too much or too little water will change the texture. It might take a little practice and experimenting, but soon you'll have always perfect rice. The design is also good. Definitely the nicest looking rice cooker my family has ever had. After cooking rice it displays the amount of hours the rice has been in there. It'll keep it warm and edible for a pretty long time. It doesn't start smelling funky until after the 48 hr mark. We've forgotten about the rice and left it in there for 72 hours before. It didn't smell too horrible considering how long it was in there for (we still didn't eat it though). But it's a great device for knowing when you should probably throw the rice out. Because the rice keeps so well, my mother is always cooking fresh rice for the household to eat. When the rice is done, a Korean voice comes on and pleasantly lets the house know.If you don't really cook brown rice then this isn't really necessary. There are cheaper rice cookers that will do just fine. But if you are into all the healthy rices and find that it's always hard, this is perfect!I'd say the only downsides are that it's pretty bulky and can be loud. It takes up a lot of counter space, so if you have a very small kitchen I'd recommend one of the smaller Cuckoos. When the rice is done it also makes a very loud hissing sound that I can hear even in the bedroom.Overall, this is an investment well worth it for the household that is always eating brown rice.

Easy to clean, but read the instructions.
Easy to clean, but read the instructions. It's easy to forget to clean the top lid on the lid underside, and the clear plastic overflow cup behind the back hinge.I'm very happy with it. I've been throwing in rice, frozen veggies, and (when I get the water proportions right) lentils to great effect. Has paid for itself many times over by providing cheap, healthy, and easy food.

The cooker itself is great. Just don't understand all the capabilities
English instructions were not very clear. Needed to ask a friend to read the Korean instructions to translate. The cooker itself is great. Just don't understand all the capabilities. The cook book that came with it was in Korean so that didn't help. Cooking white rice and multigrain rice is fantastic. Just wish they would write the instructions clearer. "GABA" rice?

Changed our eating habits in a great way!
This is our second cuckoo rice maker and we are hooked. When my husband bought the first one I thought that it seemed a bit excessive, but even I turn into a major rice lover because of it. It makes the perfect batch of rice, and it stays good and fresh in there for days. Our first one lasted about three years, which I think is pretty good considering we have it running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Unfortunately, I have not learned to use it because it speaks Korean and I do not. My husband could teach me the easy steps of Making the rice Without having to understand what the machine says, but I kind of like having one less task in the kitchen! It’s nice that he can be the one always responsible for rice.

Returning Cuckoo
I purchased Cuckoo 10 cup Pressure rice cooker 2 weeks ago, I cooked 3 times. But rice taste was not that good as i expect. So I return it.They charged return lable fee $20.60 and restocking fee $32.99 total of 53.59. I don't understand why they take off lable fee and restocking fee, also that is way too much($53.59)If they charge shipping charge.. that i understandBut other chargesVery disappoint!! Rice cooker was not good as i expect. After I return it 11 days ago, I didn't get my money yet....I purchased 2 of Cuchen Pressure Rice Cooker, they are working good and taste excellent.

Forgot how good rice could turn out!
My husband actually ordered this for me - our old rice cooker still worked, but it was pretty beat up and I had lost the measuring cup, so my guesses on the rice to water ratio must've been off, because with this new cooker the rice is sooo much better! Light and fluffy for both white and brown rice! There's a couple functions I still need to try (I think it lets you reheat/cook old rice - and maybe even mixed in with new? - that will be awesome for re-using leftovers that had been stored in fridge for few days!) but it's easy to clean and I'm very satisfied as it is. I just need to get a Korean friend to translate what it's saying when the rice is done, she's sweetly saying something that's a little more elaborate than 'your rice is done' 😆

Good. but check inside.
Very good. Easy to cook. This brand has good quality usually. The reason i rate 3 stars is becauz of inner pot which has many scratches.Check inside when you receive it.Hope this review helps.

Why you should buy Cuckoo
• I enjoy rice much more than I did before Cuckoo. The texture and moistness are consistent throughout the pot. There are no dry grains and no clumps.• We routinely warm the rice for two days. The rice doesn’t get dry.• The Cuckoo is very easy to clean. Nothing gets on the lid. Only the removable pot needs cleaning. The rice starch comes off with a paper towel.• Cuckoo makes a variety of fun sounds to announce each phase of the cooking. Such as before steam comes out, and when the rice is done. The cuckoo sound is my favorite.• Cuckoo is female and speaks Korean, which I don’t. I just read the English on the panel and have no problem.• I agree with other reviewers: Cuckoo is the best! Enjoy!
