It’s only got one purpose. It quietens down the exhaust of the vacuum and that can help in an inside cleaning job like your shop. It also helps as it does equally well when used outside to clean. Your neighbors will appreciate it. Fits well into its exhaust port. Doesn’t add much to the weight of the vacuum. Function is undeniable and durability will show in time. I’m pleased and so are the neighbors.

This piece makes a HUGE difference in stopping dust output from the exhaust of the vacuum and it's quieter too. It fits perfects and is solidly-made. Now I can use this vacuum indoors without any concern for blowing dust all around.

Easy fit over the outflow port of my older craftsman wet/dry vacuum. The biggest benefit is the additional filtration the "muffler" provides which can be beneficial when using the vac inside the house. The downside is that there is no noticeable reduction in the sound of the vacuum when operating. Longevity remains to be seen. Will update the review if/when warranted

This muffler don't cut down the noise it dose something better It kills the exhaust wind to nothing, and filters the air at the same time. I highly recommend this to anyone with a shop vac it dose what it suppose to do and more

Fit my Craftsman vacuum perfectly.....muffles sound and cuts the velocity of expelled air to avoid stirring up dust.

Very practical

It does diffuse the exhaust, but to call it a muffler is a bit much. It does cut down a bit on the super high frequency noise, but you still need to wear ear protection when attached to a shop vacuum.
