Broken handle
I used it for the first time yesterday and problem one, the handle was broken when I pulled it out the package. However, I still tried to use it. Problem two, I made my pancake mix and poured it in, but it did not come through the hole as expected. That could have been my fault because my batter was a little thick, as I don't like it too thin. All in all, I think the product will work as designed only if your mix is not too thick. I want to try to give this product another shot, but not 100% sure.

Not bad
So I’ve purchased those to make it easier for cupcake batter pancake mix things like that because those two things specifically are made quite often in our household and the measurement lines and numbers easily wash off after a few washes so not happy about that do you Gotta make sure that you get in and really try and find like a little scrubby to get the little panel where the batter or mix is dispense or it will stick up and gob up in the cracks of The slide

Handy!
Husband is the cook & wanted this for camping cooking. Love, love, love how easy and washable it is. The handle was broken when I opened it, but it does not affect how it works so don't need to return. Will be buying more for our house, friends & family!

not for thick batter
worked great with my more liquid cake batter but i tried it with my other thicker batter and nothing came out. it was super effective with the first batter though i filled my cupcake tin (24 cupcakes) in a matter of seconds! saved soooo much time! i will definitely be using it for my more liquid batters from now on! wish it worked for my other batter though. looks like my ice cream scoop will still be in charge or those!

Great Gadget for Dispensing Batter and Separating Fat
...I have yet to use it for separating fat. I have never used a gadget either for a batter dispenser (GREAT!), or for separating fat (can't wait to use it for that), but if this works *half* as well for separating fat as it does for dispensing batter, I'm going to be twice as pleased as I am right now. It could not be easier both to use and to clean. This was my first use, so I have no idea about its durability. But I LOVE this gadget and highly recommend it.I have now used it to separate fat...and I am now twice as happy as I was before. It turns out that this particular design makes it THE best way to separate fat. The key is to let the liquid you pour into it (no need to remove the top, which is perforated) cool enough to let the fat actually separate and rinse to the top, leaving the prized liquid on the bottom. Squeeze the release trigger, and the liquid you want empties into your receptacle. Release on spurts so that the moment you see some fat, you know you've gotten what you need. (Don't worry about getting a little fat mixed in with the cooking liquid; just a little bit of fat adds more depth of flavor.)This specific design fat separator/ batter dispenser is a winner, big time!

Bad return policy
For an $11.99 product (plus tax makes it over $12) to have to spend a half hour or so packing it up, and another 15 mins or so printing out the print label (which has terrible instructions and is too confusing to mess with), and then, on top of that, to have to take it back to UPS to ship it back, it is hardly worth bothering. The gadget was packed so tightly into the box it came in (with special cardboard to protect the very flimsy handle) that I could not get it back into the box, even though the handle was broken (at the bottom of the metal spring that activates the stopper lift to dribble out batter or gravy (sans fat). Too bad. It's a great concept but I resent that the company won't just take your word for it and send you a new item. It's not like anyone wants to sit around collecting fat skimmers.... and not like there's a profit to be made on re-selling them. I think Umien could go far in customer relations to improve the handle and not sweat the send-back details if the product doesn't work.

Does the job fantastically!
This is exactly what I needed! The fun and unique design allows me to make gravy for my pot roasts like a champ! I'm able to pour all of the roasted meat juices that have collected in my roaster directly into this beauty through it's perforated lid. This enables me to separate all but the liquid. After some time the fat floats to the top of the container. The tension grip handle slides the base stopper to the side so that the stock can be released from the bottom without mixing with the fat. The fat floats undisturbed until all stock has been removed. By releasing the tension on the grip handle, the stopper closes back to it's natural position. Thus, I'm able to use or discard the fat which remains in the cup! Note, the cup also has liquid measurements printed on the side of the clear cup to allow accurate measurements for my recipes. I've not even used it for pancake batter yet! I'm sold! I'll be buying more for gifts!

Broke after a week
This item fell from the edge of the sink into the stainless steel sink and it was constructed in such a brittle fragile way that the spring device snapped off. From an 8 inch fall! I can still use it but have to manually open and shut the valve, with the spring broken. A great concept, works great, but poorly made.
