Cleanest Insect Trap Ever
We've had some weird insect problems. Mosquitos in November? Nature can be rude, so we decided to augment our existing zapper with a back up. When this arrived, we immediately put it to work.Day one: Not one to suggest hallucinogenic's but staring into the blue light was mildly trippy. With the lantern shape, my husband began to believe he was a blue version of the Green Lantern. But we're a Marvel house and he's no Ryan Reynolds, so enough of that crap.Day two: Apparently our mosquitos have been equipped the Blu Blockers because they keep flying by, ignoring this like I ignore texts from my mother. The first zapper has been crackling like a campfire but this one doesn't appear to be in the mood.Day three: The hubby feels the cord is too short. He came to this conclusion when he got frustrated with the flyby buzzes, picked the thing up, and swung it around his head like Thor about to take off (told you we were Marvel). This only gave him 50' (pi*r squared) of coverage in a 600 sq ft room. He grabbed a 6' extension and boom! Over 300' of coverage. Downside: Not one zap. And we have to replace about 20 Hummels.Day four: My hearing isn't what it used to be but the laughter of the mosquitoes as they flew around this product was pretty clear. I would have been madder but they flew in such a tight and synchronized formation, I couldn't help but be impressed. #bluesquitosDay five: We've decided to put the old zapper in front of this product, wait for the formation to come, and then pull it away at the last second. They didn't seem to fall for the ruse and we're down another six Hummels.Printing and packing this back for return is one of the few highlights of this product. The blue light was a change from the non-retina destroying house lights we use but when the hubby started to suggest testing the zapper part on the dogs, it wasn't enough to prompt us to keep it. Sending it back. Good news: the insect trap at the bottom was spotless.

Seems Good
I just bought this recently, and I think it works well. I'm not a hundred percent positive, because as soon as I brought it in the house, all the annoying fruit flies magically disappeared. Just the other day a mosquito snuck into my house when I left the door open for a brief few secs. I pulled out the light and left it on for awhile. Eventually I heard a very faint buzz sound, and went to check if it got it. I didn't see the mosquito in the tray, but I also haven't seen it flying around the house since. No mosquito bites on me so far, either. So for now, I'm just going to assume that the zapper did its job!

Did not kill anything.....
Sooo, I bought this based on other reviews. Either I have extremely intelligent flies, or this device does not work.It is my understanding now that most insects that are drawn to UV light are pollinators---those that can see the UV spectrum of light and are therefore drawn to this zapper. Which is terrible for our environment. (Google it, there is a lot of information about zappers and the role they play)I don't think flies see UV--or at least mine don't. I did not kill one fly and considering the amount that we have had, thats ridiculous.Anyway, I do not recommend.

Stopped working after a few months
With the hot summers, I needed something to help control the mosquito problem in my home. I thought this was the right product for the job when I started looking through lists on Amazon. It worked great at first but then the cable was super finicky when plugged in. If you didn't have it in the right position then it wouldn't turn on. Then, after just about a month and a half, it stopped working altogether. I returned it and do not recommend buying it.

Very lightweight - No On/Off switch
As I needed this because of mosquitoes bites around my ankle. Has not catch any and that is not its fault, there is no and not possible to be mosquitoes bites under my desk only. I am the only person having the problem. However, it is plastic so extremely weightless. Easily knocked over on its side. The main problem is that there is no on/off switch. One has to Plug and Unplug to be sitting on the floor and be careful it doesn't get accidentally kicked.

Didn’t kill a single fly or moth indoors in the dark
This item was so ineffective it didn’t kill a single fly over the course of several days with no the lights on in the house besides this. It was a total waste of money and I miss the return window by one day. I’m struggling financially so this especially sucks. Do not buy if you want something that you know will work.

It couldn't kill a fly
I bought this for the house. I loved the old Stinger that was super small. They don't make it anymore. This one had the same small grid. I left it on for months and now I finally gave up on it. I saw a flying bug land on it. The bug seemed to be struggling with the grid for about 15 seconds then it simply flew away. I have one of the original tennis racket bug zappers and it works great you just have to carry it with you throughout the house to kill moths.
