This is an excellent piece of literature well worth the price. This book is a very excellent read that keeps your attention throughout its pages, it covers a vast amount of information on developing resolute thinking skills, and furthering ones fencing skills when having discourse. The book is also just as firm and sound with the development of writing skills, and though this rating is not my best writing; please do not let get past you as this book is an excellent, excellent purchase. You will not go wrong in owning a copy. If for no other reason this piece of literature would make an excellent gift to give to someone; whom faces challenges in any of these areas. Note: I try to face my challenges head on, and so needless to say the book is aiding me in many areas. Hope that this information will be as helpful for you as it has been for me, be well.

This is an important skill in life. Developing arguments (pros and cons) and writing critically is what this book teaches you. A must for MBAs-especially if u r doing MBA from a UK or Europe.

I got the book in great quality! The contents of this book is really helping me in writing and thinking critically. There are several activities, examples and answers for everything so you are never left in the dark about any topic.

This book is for students who need to know the ins and outs of critical thinking. An excellent book. I want it for anotherreason and intend to use parts of it for an adults course - not directly but to gather it with other ideas.

This textbook was required for my spring semester class. I cannot really rate it as a "favorite read" as such.

Critical Thinking Skills is an excellent textbook for anyone looking to brush up on, or developing key critical analysis skills. As a university student, this book was recommended to me by my lecturer, so it came highly praised and it has certainly lived up to it! I read the whole textbook in two days before embarking on planning my important essays (the reason why I purchased the textbook).The textbook provides clear-cut examples in a very easy to understand layout. There are 'test yourself' at the end of each section/chapter which are great for you to get an overall sense of how well you understood each particular topic. The book also very cleverly highlights many 'pitfalls' of writing which (most) people tend to make in their writing without realising. Examples are provided or both 'good' and 'bad' texts so the distinction between the two is made very clear; it then goes on to explain what to do and how to do it well, so it certainly lives up to its claim!It is an ongoing critical reference book I will come back to time and time again to pick on key points which I want to refine a bit more in my writing skills. Final message for anyone looking to purchase this book: buy it, trust me you won't regret it! Especially recommended for university students, particularly at the start of their undergraduate degree as it is vitally important to develop these critical skills before reaching your final year and have to complete your dissertation.5 out 5 stars for doing what is claims to do in a clear and concise manner!

Bought as a recommended reference from the reading list for a PGCE essay. Arrived on time, in condition described by seller. Book is well laid out with headings, subheadings and text boxes to break up the information in each chapter. Simple activities to check understanding throughout. Chapters 9,10,11 particularly useful. Hoping the tips will improve my essay writing technique.

I bought this book in preparation for uni and it has been very helpful in 'reading between the lines' and clarifying strong and weak arguments. It will also enable me to save time on research for essays. Overall, a good book and I'm only half-way through.

This book was the reason I achieved a 2.1 (Hons) degree. My critical thinking skills were thin on the gound. I just hadn't realised it. I found the exercises helpful. It took me a while to get to grips with how to develop critical analysis skills. When the penny dropped, so to speak, my marks increased significantly and I moved into the 2.1 zone.

Used this for last semester of second year for my Geography degree and never got any essay/report under 60% thanks to this book. It definitely helps you in breaking down the key elements needed, in order for your piece of work to become an effective case/argument. Worth every penny. Will be using this for the remainder of third year!!!
