I recently got started in drawing some zentangles and mandalas. I have tried desperately to draw even the simplest of mandalas without using a protractor or anything...and let me just say that is not a good idea, especially if you are wanting your work to look good! Lol I started looking on here for what I needed and honestly kinda felt a bit overwhelmed with the amount of choices. However, I saw this one and really liked the look of everything, and especially the price! It arrived today and I couldn't wait to open it. First, the plastic case is made exceptionally well!! I love it. Everything is packed inside and fit perfectly, while being easy to access whatever you need at the moment. I have used pretty much used everything in it so far today and I am very impressed with the quality of all this!! Everything is really durable and can easily take a lot of abuse and wear and tear. I especially like how the protractor is kind of magnified so you can see through it much easier. Really, the only problem I had was with the smaller compass that has the little bit of lead you have to put in it. Now, maybe it's because I'm just old and haven't used one of these in a very long time... But I loosened the metal screw bit and put the bit of lead in it and tightened it back up. However, regardless of what I did, the bit of lead would not stay in and kept falling out. Now, I'm not gonna take a star away or anything because of that because it's very possible that it's my fault. I just want to know what I may be doing wrong. The other compass that you put the pencil in works amazingly well!! All in all, I am so very happy with this set. It's got everything a student, employee, or even just an avid artist could ever need to use, and all in a very attractive case. Definitely worth 5 stars if not more.

I was giddy with excitement while waiting for this to be delivered. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I've recently begun exploring my artistic side with specialized pencils, watercolor pens, inking pens, etc., so the addition of a set of drafting tools would help me to polish my technique. Enter this set. I saw it online and was immediately intrigued by what seemed to be a rather comprehensive set of tools for a low price, a set that even included a cool case to keep everything together in a true kit form. Will this replace an architect's tools? Will you use these to design the next Chrysler Building? Probably not. However, what it will do is train your hand to be more precise, more polished. It will allow you to regulate shapes and sizes. The tools are of surprisingly good quality--especially for this price point. You get some triangles, a compass, etc. in tough yet flexible plastic, or in the case of the compass, rigid plastic and metal parts. The case is well-formed and has a latch for solid closure.

My kid needed a better compass than those stupid plastic or tin things walnut sells. After searching around a bit we had no luck so we went to Amazon. I was sceptical as the price was too cheap. Figured it was gonna be junk, but the reviews seemed pretty good. WOW was I amazed at what we got! All the positive reviews were spot on. THis thing is amazing for the price. No it's not a draft quality compass- BUT it's not too far off! I took drafting in school so I know quality insturments and these are DANG close to draft quality. THey are well made and accurate. THe case is durable and should hold up to the backpack trips it is going to be making everyday between home and school. I suspect this will be the last compass I'll have to get my kid before graduation. Hurray for a great product at an amazing price!!! Teachers and students rest assure this is perfect for school!

I use this set to design rough sketches as an engineer. I was very surprised for the quality of the product for such a small price. I am deffinately pleased with my purchase Each component Two metal compass one with a graphite tip and the other with a pencil holder, both are very good quality although they lack the angle specification for a more "professional" use. Ruler and square set They are somewhat small but are big enough to use on a sheet of paper. pretty sturdy and good marks Protractor I personally do not like the protractor, it feels somewhat weird to hold it without a hole in the middle and I am not a big fan of the lines that run from the circle center to the line Case The case is a cheap plastic case, don't expect it to do much, I dropped it once from my desk and it opened and spread all the components inside, it won't do much but it will keep them organized.

I bought a couple of metal compases and struggled to tightened the little screws on them and to get a really small circle drawn. Yes I bought a small sized compass. This one works really good for my need. I use it on rocks in particular. Can get super small size circles as well as larger. It feels very comfortable using a pencil which I prefer. For THIS price, it is top notch. I am using this for art projects and not actual Math classes, but for my art need - this works really SUPER! For all that is contained in this kit AND price, this IS worth trying.

This works great, and the reason I picked it was because it has an open-hole protractor, instead of one of the closed hole ones. It just makes things easier. The Compasses are amazing, and they lock on their own!

I'm by no means a professional drafter. I work in product development and we do rough sketches of the product concept before handing it to the engineer to render it on CAD or other similar software. I got these so I can at least get the proportions right when drafting our sketches. I have to say they perform admirably. Functionality: I love that it has all the basics. Two compass sets, one with the special pencil tip, and another where you can put in any pencil you like. I also love the fact that it comes with a regular protractor and right angle. I don't have to pull out all the instruments for each job. It's all in one case... which brings me to the case. I definitely appreciate it... makes storage much easier without having to rummage in my drawer to find. Size: They are small enough to be able to easily store in a drawer or hang on the wall, but the size is large enough to be able to use as a ruler if needed. Material: Definitely made of good quality material. The case is shatter proof which helps if you have it in a luggage banging around a bunch of stuff. The compass is steel so that's definitely durable too. Definitely recommended. Cheap and functional.

I bought a geometry set at a local store and I was so disappointed with it that I bought another from Amazon. I wish I had thought to get one from Amazon first as the quality of this one is excellent! I bought the one from Amazon based on customer reviews and I am not disappointed. I was taught as a child that the way to test compasses for quality is that the points should meet perfectly and they should not be capable from being moved sideways. The two compasses in here pass both tests easily! The kit is the best one I've seen for home use, all the items you expect like two triangles (45, 45 degree and 30,60 degree triangles), a protractor, 6" ruler, a compass that can hold most pens or pencils, a divider than can have one point replaced by a pencil lead (supplied), a reasonable pencil sharpener and a small but very good "plastic" eraser, like the Staedtler "Marsplastic" ones. Even the case (while not being top-quality) is still excellent and will last a while even with rough handling at school.
