I bought this for my father in law because his trolling motor gave out. I shipped it as a gift directly to him. The packaging was impressive when it did arrive. He wanted the 12 volt motor, 40 lbs model. The motor has 5 forward and 3 reverse positions, which is an upgrade from his older model motor this one replaced. It is very light-weight and portable, another reason this motor was chosen. It did not disappoint him. He is older and takes the motor out whike storing his boat. He goes fishing every single day and this has been the best motor he has used. The depth height can easily be adjusted, which helps him when fishing in the shallow waters along the banks.so you can motor in water of virtually any depth. The steering lever is adjustable,which he likes so mich. It is easier for him to control. He also really appreciayes the battery indicator because we were always guessing about the battery life. I feel so much better when I know my father in law is in the river fishing alone. I do not have to worry about him being stranded!
