Yes, the hat does arrive all folded up, but the folds are slowly working out over time and not a big deal at all. As a gardener and hiker I was looking for a hat that would cover my head and neck and this works very completely. On my other sun hats there is an area at the base of my neck and shoulders that always manages to get some sun and with this hat that area is covered...thankfully. That was my top issue when looking for a new and better sun hat as a person with a history of sun cancer. As a hiker, this hat also works better than my other hats because the brim doesn't flip or down when I am jogging up or down hills. The brim stays in place perfectly, as long as I have the ties zipped up tight under my chin.The biggest downfall is that the brim falls down on my forehead and blocks my line of sight looking forward. It works best when I'm looking down (gardening) because even though I clench the toggle to tighten around my small head, it still slides down a bit and I have a hard time keeping it up at the correct angle to walk with my head looking straight forward. I hope I can figure out a way around this issue and make it tighter for me so I can see better, but as far as sun blocking ability it is terrific.Another bonus is the material / fabric on the top of the hat is very thin and breathable so my head doesn't get so hot and sweaty in the sun----huge bonus! It has a mesh around the sides of the hat too---extra cooling. I looked at hats here on Amazon for weeks before making this important decision and couldn't be happier with my purchase. Right now I'm still banging into doors and things with my brim as I'm not used to having such a big hat on! It is kind of comical! I'll get used to it soon!! Great hat!!!

I needed a wide brimmed hat for hiking and I have a fairly large noggin (plus long, thick hair) so had to find one that fit. This one definitely does (maybe even a little too wide) but it’s still good as I can pile up all my hair and put it inside the hat. The brim is very wide and my face not neck get sun now, which is what I was looking for. It’s foldable and packable but it does crease, so know that but dunno how else to get around that. Definitely recommend.

I'm a tall lady, 5'10" with a 24" head. That is bigger than all women's and most men's hat sizes come, so I have STRUGGLED to find a lady's hat that fits. My scalp burns badly in the summer on the beach and now I'm a gardener too. I recently had a spot biopsied on my scalp so I'm more concerned these days about skin cancer. I now know what normal people feel like to have a hat that fits properly! I'm thankful for other reviews mentioning the large size because it's exactly what I needed. It does have the adjustable top (which I dont need haha) and chin strap. I was worried it would look too manly, but I think it's cute. I also have very broad shoulders, and you can see it's quite wide for sun coverage. The brim as others mentioned is very stiff, I hit the door frame on my way out of the bathroom from taking these pics! Clunk. I do feel the brim on my ears but I'm sure I'll find a position I like to wear it. I'm pretty stoked about this hat! I'm very happy to find a hat that fits! Also I found the price very reasonable relative to hats Ive attempted to make work in the past. I'm glad I found it. Thank you!

I like to be outside gardening in the summer and bought this hat to protect myself from sunburns. It also works well to keep rain off. I like it.

The hat is fold-able but it droops on the left and right of your field of vision. This gives you an unsettling lack of peripheral vision. Otherwise the hat is pretty good. I'll try to figure out a way around this. Strange but after wearing this plus a sleeve over my entire head I had red marks on my face from the sun. So it can't be all that great at shielding from the sun. May go back to my old floppy sun hat.On the positive side, the workmanship and quality seems top notch. The picture is misleading because it shows the hat as a stiff brim where in reality it hangs down in 4 places based on where it folds.

The hat is large with adjustment in back. Very comfortable to wear. Ventilation is great, no sweaty head!Best coverage!

This fits my head! It is really hard to find a hat that fits my head because I am a female with a 23" head. I like that it has the drawstring so you can tighten it plus it has another drawstring which goes under your chin so if you are outside, it shouldn't blow off. It does have a hard crease in it because it came folded, I am hoping that works itself out over time, I am sure it will. The brim is like a dense foam material that is covered with fabric on both sides which makes it very light. I think it will do the job. Overall I'm happy with it. I may add a colorful band around it to give it a bit of color, I ordered the gray because I do expect it will be getting dirty.

Bought for son who is out doing DofE expeditions. He is delighted and thinks that not only is it effective sunblocker but wide enough to be a conversation piece. Great.
