Useful addition to any maths teacher's armoury
A useful collection of puzzles and tricks suitable for many different age ranges, from primary school to adult audiences. Apart from cards, dice and calendars, very few props are required, and with a bit of creativity many of the tricks can be adapted to make them suitable for sharing on paper with small groups of students. Several items will be familiar to readers of Ian Stewart and Martin Gardner, but even here Fulves' notes on presentation are useful. I bought this book hoping to find some activities to engage struggling key stage 3 students with numbers, and I've found 30 or so fascinating items which I believe are suitable. Excellent value for money.
