Higher! Higher! (Leslie Patricelli Board Books)

Higher! Higher! Again Please!!
What's not to love? A smiling child, an obliging Dad and a chance to teach a child about context clues in the illustrations. The smile on the little girl's face alone is enough to make me smile as my granddaughter and I look at the story in the pictures. "Daddy-daughter day at the park! Oh, look! She likes the swings too! Wow! She swings high!" There's a happy giraffe, children playing on the apartment roof, a mountain climber, who waves from the peak! Everyone's favorite one haired baby is looking out the window on the plane! And she keeps swinging higher! The story in this book can be as long or as short as your little ones attention span.I love this book and I believe it will be a favorite of my granddaughter too! One thing that I don't love about many of L. Patricelli's books is the black smudging on the pages. It makes the book look dirty for no reason that I can figure. I don't think it distracts my LO from the colorful illustrations so no stars taken, just my preference would be clean pages in a brand new book. I recommend this book from 6 months and up. See how quickly your LO learns to ask, "Again!!"

This book came in great condition, on time
This book came in great condition, on time, and was definitely something I wanted; I love Leslie Patricelli books (have previously borrowed Potty from the library- so cute!) and I wanted to buy this book for the 22 month old I nanny for. He LOVES the swing and he loves books by this author so I thought it would be great. Once it arrived, I realized it said "Higher! higher!" on pretty much every page. Only one or two pages said something different. I read it to him twice and it was just too much of the same word. The pictures are really great, and really imaginative so if you have a kid that likes to read on their own and just look at pictures, this works. My little buddy just wants you to read the book over and over. I know thought I'd say the word "higher!" so much. So just a heads up for anyone wondering what's inside. I'll post pics too.

A wonderful book
A wonderful book for my little one. She has us reading it for her every single day.

another excellent book by Patricelli
I bought this book because my daughter loves to swing high in the playground and I encourage her to do so. The story is about a little girl who wants to go higher than a giraffe, a building, and so forth. My daughter enjoys the book tremendously and even talks about it when we are at the playground...if a book has stimulated her mind, that's about all I can ask for.

How do you like to go up in a swing? Up in the air so high, oh I think its the magical thing ever a child can do!
that.s what I like about this book, I read it over and over and over again, and I so remember each swing I ever was allowed to experience...a gift for a little friend who LOVES to challenge the swing1

Good, but not quite what I was expecting.
I loved the bright, simple, colorful illustrations, but was disappointed in how little "story" there is in this story. I didn't realize that there are only 7 or so words in the entire book. It's probably better for older kids who can tell you what the implied story is, or tell you their own version of the story based on what they see in the pictures. There aren't many words, which is something to consider if you have a younger child (like my 20 month-old) that you're trying to read to to get them to learn words.

another great product from Lesile Patricelli
adorable book. wish it had more words in it but we just make up our own dialog for the pages and my 2 year old it starting to recognize the word "higher". I guess repetition is key!

LOVE it
This is one of my 2 yr old sons' favorite books! It doesn't have much of a story line, but it I feel it help builds his imagination with the bright colorful pictures. She reaches mountain tops, outter space and encounters a friendly alien along the way! He really loves it and I think it's adorable.

Not sure why my daughter likes this as much as she does but it is a nice simple book with lots of opportunity to chat around the images.

Not exciting enough.
This book has very nice illustrations. I was expecting far more from this book and found it not very stimulating for my child.

A mi hijo le encanta porque yo le cuento cosas mientras paso las páginas, pero en realidad no tiene texto, solo ilustraciones y las palabras "Higher higher" en cada página.

My toddler LOVES this book
Very simple book, but my toddler has loved it since 18 months. She likes that she can "read" the whole thing.
