Nice heat mat, good size for seed tray.When you unbox it and power it up it will not heat up until it is covered by a pot or tray (this useful information should be on the instructions)

The mat arrived in rolled up in a cardboard box. It was difficult to make it straight. Very stiff. However, it flattened eventually, after I put some containers with soil on top. It worked fine but felt not warm enough and the temperature was changing depending on the room temperature. In the end, I bought a thermostat from the same brand.I do recommend getting a thermostat as it gives you full control over the temperature of the mat.Also it really helps with seed germination.The mat with the thermostat together turned out to be quite pricey. I realised I could have gotten the items cheaper elsewhere. So it helps to shop around. No idea how it compares to the cheaper not branded mats though. Those might be fine as well.

Had some curl after delivery but settled flat with use and weight of seed tray.

I bought this was £35.85 , on Amazon . I used it in the greenhouse on top of a cheap thin silver car shading thing for car windows as it was slight padded and it did the job well. You only feel the heat when the tray is sitting on the mat so the areas in between may feel cool. Even though there was no thermostat it was perfect to germinate seedlings on and later to grow on the more tender plants. Now I can wrap it up and put it away until next year.I have a large propagating table with sand heated with cables and a thermostat and I believe this mat was just as good. I only wish I had bought two or even three at the time as a few days later the price shop up to £48 . I have both my table plug and the mat plug inside a waterproof box and use a remote switch to turn the one plug on and off from the house as the temperature dictates.

I have a propagator which works well but if you expect them to feel hot they do not. Its just enough to help the seeds on their way.2021- I'm going to try this in my unheated greenhouse. Run a waterproof cable to it, a selection seeds in half trays on the mat, (others of the same variety will be saved until frosts have past) cover with fleece in frosty weather and see if they survive. My 'important' seeds, tomatoes, peppers cucumbers will not be risked, maybe just one or two of those seeds. So in January it was in a room in the house and warmed well but after a couple of times it then failed to create any heat. Yes it was totally covered with seed trays and it would be returned but due to the fact I bought early for seed sowing (October) I'm not able to return.

This needs a thermostat to operate it properly so without one, it’s not much use as you have to turn it off manually when it overheat
