Works really well
Bought two for my parents and so far they seem to really like it, it was a bit confusing to learn how to navigate through the interface of the device but we learnt how to do it in no time. The sound system works well, it's easy to download musics on it but it takes a bit of time to transfer files on the MP3 but that can be looked over. I also really appreciate the fact that it's using USB-C rather than micro USB. Battery life is really good, all in all it's a nice little gadget, I recommend it.

Pretty Good Affordable Music Player (Unless You're An Audiophile)
I really want to like RUIZU X02 Music Player. It has a lot going for it.It seems well built and the buttons have a nice feel. In my opinion the user interface is fine and mostly intuitive although making it more aesthetically pleasing would be nice. Transferring music too it is pretty straightforward. Simply drag and drop or copy and paste. It works fine in Linux as well. Now I will get to the biggest issue for me. I never thought of myself as an Audio Snob, but the sound quality is just not up to what I am used to.To test I used the same flac, mp3, and ogg files on three different players; a Walkman from circa 2010 that in my opinion has great sound and a Sansa Clip+ and the Ruizu X02. The Walkman and the Clip+ both have nice clean sound in my opinion with the sound of the Walkman being the best.I've tried 4 different headphones 2 over the ear and 2 in the ear. In all cases the Ruizu X02 just sounds a bit "weak" to me and in all cases the Bass is just not rich enough , and it was hard to bring out all the sounds. There are equalizer presets and one custom slot. I've adjusted the EQ over and over to try to bring out some clean sound but can never seem to get it just right. At higher volumes it sounded more clear. On the other players the sound quality was the same at all volume levels. It is only a guess, but I am thinking the in the digital to analog conversion the sound quality is taken down. I'm hoping this can be remedied with a firmware update. Now, saying all that I still say this is a good device. I say that because the build, battery life and even the sound quality is good for the price. It is 1/3 the price I paid for the Walkman and it has an SD card slot so you can load tons of music on it. The Walkman does not have any expansion options. So the bottom line is that the Ruizu X02 likely acceptable for most listeners. If you are an audiophile you probably wouldn't be looking at a $30 audio player anyway but I'm pretty confident you won't be happy with this. Even though I give it 4 stars overall I may return it, but I'm going to test it for another week before I decide.

Great little device
Love my Ruizu! It's small, lightweight and perfect to slip in your pocket when out walking. There's plenty of storage capacity for my audiobooks and it pairs easily with bluetooth earbuds. Once you get used to a few idiosyncrasies, it's easy to navigate. I recently upgraded the firmware and their customer service was first class when I encountered difficulties downloading the files; they speedily resolved the issue. Recommended for a low-priced, small and simple MP3 player.

Manual Not For Product Delivered
Apparently, they created a new version of the product. I know this, because that's what the manual is for. But it talks about features that the delivered device doesn't have. The user interface is truly atrocious. The pathetic thing about it is, I wouldn't care at all if they simply included the correct manual. I don't mind learning a difficult interface. But when the interface is not discoverable, and various features require pressing multiple buttons simultaneously, then you have to be able to look it up and find out which buttons to press. There is no other way.If instead of the WRONG manual they had included a web address of a PDF with the correct manual, the problem would be significantly reduced. But this is just intentionally dishonest; they printed the wrong number of manuals, or built the wrong number of devices, and just mix-and-matched. But they don't have the same software. They don't have the same menus. If you change the software, you should update the product model number and this would never happen.A simple and important feature like the screensaver settings are listed in the manual, but not in the device menu. Does this mean you can't change the settings? Who knows. The interface also lags really bad. Press pause; now press play. There is such a long delay between pressing the button and the music starting that the natural instinct is to press it again; but if you do that, it plays about 1/5th of a second of music and then pauses again. Immediately. If the music is paused and press play/pause twice, rapidly, it instantly plays this short blip of music before returning to being paused. But if you just press it once, it sits there thinking about it before even starting. Very klunky interface. The sound quality is pretty bad, too. Setting the EQ to "rock" gives a flatter response than "off," they simply didn't bother tuning the defaults to give a flat response. So none of the EQ settings do what they were intended to do! All they had to do was tune the no-EQ settings, and the EQ formulas would all be good. But without that, they're not.Overall, the experience is worse than one of those old USB stick players with no screen and 3 buttons. The one and only advantage of this device is that it is rechargeable.
