The Little House Books Complete Set

At first I was a bit bothered that the set of 9 books are not identical. One book, "Little House on the Prairie" is about 1/4 inch smaller in height and width than the others. It is very evident and awkward on the bookshelf. Being a gift, however, the recipient was not concerned so I let it go. 2 months later, upon actually looking at these books more closely, I discoverd that the smaller "Little House on the Prairie" is a 75th Anniversary Edition; it is beautiful and worth the price of the whole set by itself. The entire set are hardback books but the other 8 are like paperback editions with a hard binding. The paper they are printed on has that cheaper feel and quality. But the one special edition is top quality glossy paper, with many more lovely illustrations than any copy I had seen before. These books are a treasure, no matter what format you choose. I have read out of print books on the Library of Congress website, in the genre of American History, that cannot compare with ability this author has to transport you back in time to post Civil War America.

I LOVED these books as a child and I am so glad that they are still in publication! I gave as a gift to my niece who received her teaching degree. I thought it would be a good way for her to start building her classroom library.

No need to comment on the material, as it's been classic literature for decades! I was reading reviews and noticed several disappointed customers, in that the set they received did not match. My set came exactly as advertised, all 9 volumes 100% matching. My advice to anyone purchasing these, is to buy "new", not "used" to save a few bucks. To have this set matching, intact, and new is priceless! My set was purchased new through Amazon, shipped by MT Ranier Store. I'm 100% thrilled with this purchase!

This is an awesome series my granddaughter loves it

Loved these books as a child in elementary school, loved them as a young mom and still love them as a grandma! Paperbacks we're so worn, I was using clear mailing tape to hold them together and reinforce the spines. Great to have these beautiful hardbacks which will last a long time. My son couldn't stand seeing me toss the old paperbacks so he now has them on his bookshelves. Little House collection is timeless and well worth the investment!

Do not be fooled by the picture of a series of books and the reference to the original series in the title. This is a single book. Each book in the series is brilliant telling the true story of a family of girls growing up in amazing times, moving from a house in some woods, across the prairies, with some very significant challenges during the series, but do not expect the complete series
