Crazy rain, stayed dry!
Love it!!! Kept me and my gear dry! I was tried to be talked in to a smaller tarp and I'm so glad I went with this tarp. I was camping before a hurricane was coming and we had crazy rain, the kind of rain that blew in all directions. And with this housefly, me and my gear stayed dry. Instead of staking down I had plenty of trees to tie to and I love the way the housefly has been designed to tighten so easily after it's been secured down. Lightweight and durable! Never leaked through! Got home and hung out and dryed easily in the house with a ceiling fan on. It was still raining when I got home, so that's why I hung inside to dry. Worked fine though. The stuff sack is great with ease of rolling up the tarp and putting it in the stuff sack. So if you think there is going to be wind or rain and you want to stay dry, well I'll choose to bring my housefly and just relax in my hammock while the storm passes.

perfect!
love love love this. I use every time I hammock camp. It's easy to put up, comes with everything you need... except for the stakes ( I think). I bought this years ago, so they may or may not have come with stakes.

Love these!
This is my second one. I loved mine and have used it for a few years now. When my kids wanted to hammock camp with me, I had no problem dropping the money for a second one. Makes sleeping in the hammock much warmer on cool nights. Actually was caught in a decent storm one night. Was not fun, and of course limbs are always the major concern (which this would not really protect against), but I was 100% dry and did stay warm. Just makes such a difference having the ends snugged up the way they do. THen during the day, easy to pop them open and let a breeze through.

Really like this rain fly, light weight and well made
Ordered for a two week hunting trip this fall. I read a post that mentioned the fly holding water once it got wet so as a test I set it up in the back yard for a few days here in Florida. We had several big downpours, none of which seemed to phase the fly. No water was absorbed at all. A quick shake and all the water beads ran right off. It's light weight and compressed size will fit nicely in my backpack. The quality looks to be topnotch. I'm using it to cover my Eagles Nest Outfitters - DoubleNest Hammock. Setup was easy and I expect that you could use the fly as a tent if you didn't want to setup your hammock. I did find that I'll have to hang this up a bit higher than I thought on my initial setup but that's not going to be an issue. There's plenty of room inside for you to setup, doesn't feel cramped at all and I'm 6'4".

Would recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors.
From a over-nighter to a base camp this thing has yet to fail me. I have used it with and without a hammock. I bought this because of the extra protection in from the rain on the ends. Used it Hawaii where it can rain 3 inches in a matter of minutes. Great protection from the rain at all angles. Keeps water from easily coming into your hammock. Easy to set up and have set it up many different ways. It packs up small enough that's I can add it to my pack without compromising other items. The strings are durable. Just a pain to put away quickly without getting them all twisted together.

Best rain fly I own.
This fly is great for 4 season backpacking/camping. I just returned from an overnight in freezing temperatures. I woke up to cold wind and sleet/snow mix. This rain fly blocked most of the wind and did not have any moisture pass through the material nor did my breath condensate on the inside. This rain fly made sleeping in a hammock much more comfortable in these temperatures. The HouseFly can also be used with trekking poles, sticks or trees to create a shelter or ultralight tent. The buckles make getting in and out painless.

fantastic piece of hammocking gear
Not that much heavier than my ENO silny hex tarp, and provides impressive protection from wind and rain. This little beauty was easy to set up once I figured out the best height and wall angle, and the storm flap lips make getting in and out surprisingly easy. This tarp protected me from heavy rain and high winds (gusts over 40 mph easy) the first time I took it out into a storm. I wish I'd known about it on previous trips, but it's coming with me whenever weather threatens now.
