UPDATE 07 MAY 22: Have not bought Terrasoul black seed for a while now as they've been missing from Amazon a while (and missed)... have tried other brands in the meantime, and have come back this one, despite not being the price leader -- for what I get, that's fine for two reasons. I want to make perfectly clear: compared to exp with other brands, this one's product quality is far beyond what I've seen in others -- and half of that has nothing to do with the product, but how they package it... Other brands insist on using bag with a zipper seal that never works, is undersized so pulls open with the slightest nudge, or fills with product so it never seals. This isn't a problem on a Terrasoul bag, which trust me, is a big deal -- rather than having to transfer powder / tiny seeds / dusty debris to a Ziploc bag every time I open one new, it's nice to actually use the seal on the bag they ship in -- which *all* brands should be capable of doing properly. And the effects on health? BP has stayed normal despite having to sacrifice some of my uber-healthy greens and beans diet to cost and availability woes (welcome to pandemic drama) and can now push my body when needed a bit more than before despite my diet being a touch less perfect. Keeper. Five stars ***** Unfortunately I live in tropical heat so temps may have degraded the health benefits a bit (90 degF now). But happy to try out Nigella sativa seed as all my trusted health and diet resources rave about it... Placed in a peppermill and grind out a third of a teaspoon over my food during the course of a day. Lovely milder spice than peppercorns with a more floral aftertaste -- probably not for everyone but I dig it. Hard to believe nigella seed's almost a staple in the UK -- they've had it there as a common spice for decades before research showed the astonishing health benefits on pennies-worth a day... good time to be a nigella farmer I suppose. My own exp is lacking right now as I've just received the shipment... but so far its claims of relaxing smooth (intestinal) muscle and lower BP, seem to be on point, no other changes made (am already on a quite clean diet so any change there >=5% is noteworthy)... More to come as I integrate this into my diet ;)

When i opened the package, there was no cumin smell came out of the package, I took out some seeds and put them up to my nose to smell them. Then i could smell a very faint cumin smell. I used the brown cumin seed to make tea for my stuffy nose. It gave the aroma of the cumin, and it helped my nose. Then i read that black cumin is better. so i bought this one. but the black seed was not giving out the cumin aroma. Tea tasted like plain water. did not cook with it, but i doubt it will be any better in cooking. This item is not returnable, hence this review for the heads up. *** update**** I got a question about this. so I did more research and found out this black seed is not related to the common cumin( Cuminum cymium) . I was looking for the fragrance of common cumin and its medicinal property for my stuffy nose. This Nigella sativa is called black cumin, but it is not cumin. Of course, it will not have the same aroma and property as the common cumin. I am really sorry about the last review. This product is nice if you are looking for the Nigella sativa.
