Pigeon Racing- Deep into Sport - Diseases and Treatment

I was expecting to read more about the experience of the author in solving problems that he experienced, and potentially different or alternative treatments. This is just a collection of excerpts that I can find online using basic search. There are much better books out there. For example, try "A Veterinary Approach to Pigeon Health" by Dr. David Marx.I also was hoping to see more detailed information on the mechanics of medicating the birds and vaccination (mixing, location, dosing, boosters). For example, is it OK to vaccinate while the birds are on medication, or should we wait until after? Is grit OK while administering medication? There is lots of accumulated information out there if you read blogs or watch videos. Someone from within the hobby should compile this information. I was hoping that the author had done exactly that in this book, but that is not the case.

Dacian Busecan is good. Good at giving information about pigeons..and the sport and the process how to train and race pigeons. The clever part is he can put his experiences and organize it into separate subjects/books to milk more money. So instead of 1 book to cover every subjects like every other writer, he separate each subject per book, therefore, he stretched out 1 paragraph of 50 words to become 1 page. I haven't seen any books that has those big fonts are staring back at me like these. Anyway, that's all about money and business that the new beginners has to pay for the price.

When I first got the book I was eager to start reading and adding to my knowledge of pigeons.Boy was I disappointed. Seriously disappointed. Not sure where to begin.Bad grammar, misspelled words, and the author's frequent references to himself using the letter i in small case, wow. It's like reading something wriiten by a tennager who did not finshed the 10th grade.In regards to the amount of useful information the book contains, well it is lacking.Everything in the book could be in easily included in a book as one chapter.The book is printed in the largest font I have ever seen in a nonfiction book for adults.And there simply is no depth. It only touches on each subject. It is written more like a summary than useful reference.I feel like I was mislead and wasted my money. I find it hard to believe Amazon sells this author's books.Did anyone seriously review this book? Does the publisher not have an editor that knows the English language?

I often find injured birds in my back yard and I have come across a few pigeons as well. I'm always the person that seems to try to help them knowing very well i'll probably have no success. I picked up this book because I like birds and thought it would be an interesting read and boy was I right. If you want to know about birds and the diseases and treatment for the birds you too love, this is the book for you. Pick it up.

A most insightful book - it discusses some of the most common diseases, but also highlights a few of the more obscure ones. Taught me much about how to treat diseased pigeons. Highly recommended.
