Supernatural - Season 1-5 [Blu-ray][Region Free]

This is a must for any fan of the supernatural itself. They take things to the weird and extreme. They push more bounderies than anyone even know exsisted. Dean, the hunter at heart and Sam the reluctant one, travel from place to place. Trying to make the world a safer place for all of us that live in it. Do be afraid of the monsters in the closet and under the bed. But always know that Dean and Sam will be there to take care of them and to keep you safe. The love/hate relationship (hate on Sam's part)between these two brothers is very touching and will make you cry. All the things that Dean has done for Sam to be able to go to school and Sam doesn't even realize it. Dean has been watching over and taking care of Sam since he was 4 and Sam was 6 months old. That is a lot of burden to place on a 4 year old boy, but Dean has lived up to that and when it comes down to the wire even is willing to die for Sam. Need to own so that you can watch over and over again.

Surprisingly interesting series. I was expecting a cheesy, teeny-bopper version of the X-Files, and got more than I expected. The main mythology of the show is pretty good, and I loved the lighter funny episodes. While it certainly has X-FIles moments (certainly due to some of the same crew) the interaction between the main characters gives it it's own unique flavor. Just wish Castiel had shown up sooner.

I've only recently gotten into Supernatural, after catching a handful of episodes on TNT in the morning; and I've really come to love it. So of course I thought, "I'm gonna get the DVD's, and then I can watch it whenever I want." And I don't regret it. I thought the price was very reasonable, especially considering the near-perfect condition they were in. The cases were bent a little bit, but the DVD's are excellent. Also, the shipping was very fast. The estimated arrival date was from September 16- October 3. And I received it Sep. 17th. Great product!

I love Supernatural! I've never bought CD's of TV show before but I really love the show....interesting, fun, exciting and funny and dramatic - and 2 cute guys all in one show (3 cute guys if you count the angel). These have interviews and outtakes included.

I LOVE Supernatural! This was an awesome deal for all 5 seasons! I can't wait to start watching them! I will be looking to buy Seasons 6 and 7 soon - I will definitely look to this seller!

I found that some of the discs skip or will not play right. Very disappointing but not all of the discs do this.

Bought the product over a year ago and just recently opened up my "new" dvd sets and found that quite a few of the discs were scratched and one will not play on any device I have in my home. To me that is not new that I paid for. I will never buy from this vendor again.

Great product, very happy with them. Also received sooner than anticipated, so that was great, considering it was an international purchase. Postage to NZ was 3 weeks from time of order. Much appreciated.

Firstly I'd like to point out thaat season 1 of this set does include the special fetures that wereprviously unavailable on the season one boxset in the UK. A friend of mine has also told me that if youbuy season 1 now seperately they are also on there. They just aren't listed on the back of the box. Thatwas a nice surprise for me :)I love supernatural, the characters, the stories, everything. I have no faults. And I don't think I've everlaughed so hard until the episode where Dean drops his pants and yells "pudding"And please don't be too quick to judge Castiel. He may start out as an incredibly annoying Angel with astick permanently wedged up his arse, but as the season move on and the charcter progresses he becomes anamazingly sincere and heartbreaking personality who has made me laugh until I cry. He's become my favouritein this show (after Dean of course!" and one I would really miss.Quite possibly one of the best series ever to be shown on television and absloutley my favourite!This boxset was one hell of a bargain and my best purchase this year!

Supernatural is an amazing TV show. It is about Dean and Sam Winchester - brothers who have been brought up to hunt monsters, ghosts and demons. And although the scary / horror elements of the story are brilliantly done, it is the writing and acting that lift the show head and shoulders above every other show out there. The characters seem so real that you feel their trials and tribulations as if they were happening to a member of your own family. The strongest element of the show is the relationship between the brothers. These boys will do anything for each other. It is wonderful to watch. This believable onscreen relationship is thanks to the writing and to the acting of Jared Padalecki as Sam and Jensen Ackles as Dean. Their chemistry is not all acting though. They have become very close friends in real life (to the point that they were groomsmen for each other at their recent weddings) and this has certainly helped to create the onscreen magic.Specifically on the blu ray version, this is currently the only way to see s2 on blu ray as it has not yet been released as a separate set. It is well packaged and the higher definition is a big and noticeable step up from the DVDs (which isn't always the case).Buy it. Start watching it. You won't want to stop. And don't worry because when you get to the end of s5 and you just HAVE to know what happens next, season 6 is out there waiting for you (although not yet on DVD). It will be on TV in the UK in the summer. A 7th season is also looking highly likely. This show is a hidden gem. You won't regret discovering it.

I had to revise my review after I explored the discs a little more. Curiously, my reciever's surround-button displays the text "DTS surround" on all five seasons. It might just be that the sound is still inferior to DTS but encoded at some special Blu bitrate or something, what do I know? It sounds great though! I also noticed a peculiar but cool thing; seasons 3 and 6 only have pop-up menus (accessed by pressing the pop-up/title/on screen button on your remote during an episode), the only "real" menu on those are for the special features. So if you're confused, just press the pop-up/title/on screen-button, and all options should be there while the episode is still playing (even an option to turn the recaps on or off, how awesome is that?).There was also a lack of Scandinavian subtitles (which the UK are usually kind enough in providing). But I'm telling you right now, that's naught to worry about, this is a beautiful set. The hard cardboard box may not be subtle, but it houses the five gorgeous seasons neatly enough; they average four discs per set, and each case contains a small episode list-booklet with all the brief synopses. All that content in glorious high-definition, taking up *less* space on your shelf than a cumbersome DVD-set, and with an average of five episodes per disc, which means you don't have to get your sorry carcass off the couch for almost four hours at a time.Supernatural does benefit from a high-def treatment, the show's stark white and crushing black shadows are almost hurtful to the eyes, the Impala shines ever on, and there are plenty of closeups of the beautiful cast (save Bobby's creases and many strands of hair perhaps). Some wide shots (particularly those containing a great deal of trees, foliage or other detail) are bizarrely sharp, almost like your *mind* has to blink to process all the information. The 5.1-sound is fine and dandy, with just enough power and punch to give you a jolt or two when needed, but without losing focus on the dialogue which the show is built upon. This isn't a grand Hollywood-production, I doubt it would actually benefit much from a Lossless DTS track. All that classic rock sounds just fine in "5.1".Well, what of the show itself? Sure, it got caught up in a bit too much of the "angels and demons"-nonsense during the later seasons, but there's still a fresh enough mixture of horror, fun, comedy and drama to keep you going. Many fresh young faces, a lot of interesting legends and heaps of beautiful carnage. Don't miss out!

For all folks who did not know if the quality of the presentation is decent enough!First the bad:The only unboxy issue is the different language equipment of the seasons.And now the good:Every five seasons has got an own strong bluraycase, I think it is the same as the normal edition. All cases are boxed in a supernatural hardcover, which is tough like a bookcover. Looks very fine and sublime. There are booklets for the seasons and show us an episode guide, a bonus is a small artwork of Dean and Sam in the middle of the three booklets.Highly recommended!!

Back in the '90s I was a big fan of scifi genre shows (DS9, The X-Files etc) but I've always felt the 2000s have been a disappointing decade for scifi/fantasy. Sure Battlestar Galactica was good, but it could be pretty pretentious at times. Supernatural isn't, and instead focuses on what made shows like DS9 and The X-Files work - provoking episodes, excellent characterisation and evolving story lines.
