Pretty good glass. Recommended for the price point.
Good product. I bought these for doing soil testing. So not heating/boiling, just mixing slurry and reagent testing. Maybe a little thinner glass than say Dow but for the price you really can't beat it. The graduations are not highly accurate form one beaker to the next, as one might expect on budget glassware. Again, not a problem for my use. This is my second set of these beakers. First set was purchased with a 50 ft. garden hose. Which Amzn. thought would be a great idea to pack both loosely in the same box. Ah yeah... that didn't work out, 3 of 6 crushed. Had to do a complete return and reorder the beakers. Second set arrived perfectly. So if you're familiar with Amzn's packaging methods, avoid ordering these with other items as depending on the mix there's a good chance of damage.

Great Beaker set.
Excellent sizes and shape for harvesting beer yeast after culturing. The tall form allows for visible separation of yeast and trub layers, allowing harvesting with a pipette. Glass is very white and clear with no bubbles. No problems with heating for boiling or sterilization. Graduations are pretty accurate, although they should be used fro estimation only. Definitely high quality.

I love these tall form beakers
They are perfect for titration tests and you are able to more accurately measure liquids in them since they are higher than standard 250ml beakers. The glass seems to be good quality, with very few bubbles and imperfections. I received my items a day after I placed the order. A DAY! That was fantastic. However, 1 beaker was completely shattered, and one was chipped on the rim. The two that were damaged were on the end and had not been properly packaged. My order shipped in a cardboard case with 12 individual slots. 1 beaker per slot, with 2 rows of 6 slots. Only every other column was wrapped in paper and all those survived fine. I'm not going to fault the seller for the damages though. I would have preferred they wrapped each one individually with extra padding in the box, and a fragile sticker on the outside (I could tell UPS handled this package roughly). BUT seeing as how I still have 11 intact beakers (the one with a chip is still perfectly useable) I can't complain. This was a good deal and I would happily buy the item again.

Useful container, but the markings are wildly incorrect
This has so far proven to be a useful container to have in the kitchen, especially for fine-tuning the color/taste of a mixed drink I'm working on (large batches make for more accurate ratio measurements). However, the markings are wildly incorrect, with 1L of water coming up to about the 800ml mark. The markings do include an "APPROX" note, but I'd still expect it to be at least within 10% of being correct. I would have quite frankly appreciated not having any markings on it in the first place, as they only serve to distract me.As for aesthetics, the container is also far from being circular (probably related to the "APPROX" markings), and has more of a slight egg-shape when viewed from above.Still, for just the function of having a very large inexpensive non-fluorescent stain-resistant container, I'm quite pleased. :)

Safe drink tumbler if you like the labware look
There are no safe plastic food containers with our without BPA. They all have estrogenic activity leached into food to cause cancer.Ceramic glazing contains lead and cadmium that can leach into food under many common conditions. That leaves glass as a safe alternative for dishes and cups. Boroslicate is the strongest most temperature resistant form of glass and it also is beautifully transparent compared to soda-lime glass or other types of glass. This is not highly fragile. The markings on the side are convenient to know how much you are putting in.If you don't mind the unconventional look of labware at your dinner table. :)http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2014/03/tritan-certichem-eastman-bpa-free-plastic-safe

coffee!
I love this thing. For science, it might be more useful if it had finer increments of measure. But for coffee brewing, This is my jam. I use this for single pour over brewing. Well worth it. It's far more durable than the glassware in the coffee section. I have dropped this in the sink several times and it's still 100% whole. I have broken 100% of the Bodum products and the like over 20+years.

These are great. I use them for cold drinks and for heating water in the microwave. One thing about them is that the white paint on them appears to run when they are washed in the dishwasher. This isn't a big deal, but it is a flaw in construction material...

Two orders and four beakers: all have been poor quality and returned.
This is my second order of beakers that I am having to return because the white labeling on the outside of the beaker appears burnt (see pictures). The other beakers I ordered last year have bright white labeling, but, the last four beakers I've ordered from Karter Scientific have been poorly manufactured. I gave this seller two chances across four beakers, however, all four failed for the same reason. I'll have to find another seller. The only reason why I'm giving two stars and not one is because–aside from the burnt labels–the beakers were in great condition.
