Great Book
This is a gift for a friend-------who rescued a baby squirrel from a nest that had fallen during a hurricane last year. They loved it=====very informative with a wealth of ideas for new "owners" or anyone interested in these cute creatures! The baby squirrel is now full grown and lives in a spacious cage in their home-----very pampered.

This is great but there are some ups and downs.
I like this book. But it is hard if you are looking for a not unknown subject about squirrels. I would not tell someone to read this unless they needed information about a known subject. I needed this to know about flying squirrels. This book dose have a page on flying squirrels but not much. But this is a good book. If you need to know a lot about flying squirrels this may or may not do the trick. This dose have some good stuff in it to. I did not read the whole book so I do not know how any of the other subject are. This is a nice book it just mite not do the trick depending on what you need it for. I do think this is a good book.👍👍

Although not a field guide, this is the THE book of understanding for the squirrel lover and enthusiast
This is an exceptionally well written book for the adult and especially advanced youth reader/naturalist who is intent on going beyond the paltry amounts of data that is presented on websites and children's books and covers subjects all the way up to adult level. It is written with an immense amount of data, but does not use difficult technical language that reader to be constantly frustrated by having to pause and look up unknown terms. The data is given is annotated within the text, citing the researchers who have or who are performing the current body of work. There are several pictures, with meaningful captures throughout.Although not a field guide, this book is a book of understanding that helps the squirrel lover and enthusiast really understand the subject. I totally recommend for adult and advanced youth readers (such as advanced 5th grade and above)Yours trulyTom, The Squirrel Whisperer

Quality is not worth price
The content of the text is top notch, but the flimsy nature of the book, the newsprint pages and mostly black and white(almost photo copy quality) photos make this one book that is WAY Overpriced. Do not recommend

Good book
This was bought as a gift for my bird/squirrel watching and feeding father. He greatly enjoys this book. He said the first bit was a bit dry going through the formal naming of the different species of squirrels but said once past that, it is a great informative book.

Invaluable!
This book was an invaluable tool as we cared for a baby squirrel we found. It gave us ideas on what to feed him, as well as answered questions regarding squirrels we had no idea about! (Things my kids wanted to know but I had no answers for - like, can they get sick and do they swim?) I recommend it even if you're not caring for one of these fun, inquisitive creatures!

Very comprehensive.
This book contains a huge amount of information on squirrels in all parts of the world. While I found this informative. my interests were primarily focused on domestic (North American) breeds.rbm
