Sennheiser Replacement Cable - HD 650 & Apogee

There is nothing new about Sennheiser, these are wonderful products, the original parts that deliver the sound. I was realy impressed though by the seller ‘Audio Equip’s service’ who were fast replying within a couple of hours and resolved the matter immediately. They gave me 4 days and exactly 4 days later, I received a replacement. Thank you so much. This seller should deserve an award! - from New York

Good quality cord that’s the right length for use with a computer or personal audio device. It’s well made and has absolutely no impact on the sound, just like every other well made audio cable of adequate gauge for it’s length.

Been jogging with it daily and no complaints on the sound. The shorter cable makes it much easier when moving around. Old cable had an issue where I had to rotate it to a certain point to hear. Concerned about the cable on the right that plugs in to my HD6xx though since I had to jam it in before the right ear of the headphones would work. ***EDIT*** After using it during the work week since April 2021, I've broken the cable. The stress on the 3.5mm jack from constantly moving in my pocket while plugged in and also jogging broke it. I tried unbending it to straighten the metal part of the plug but to no avail.

This cord is 4.6 feet versus the 10-foot cord that came with the headphones. Also the plug on the 4.6-foot cord is 1/8 inch versus the 1/4 inch on the 10-foot cord. The plug makes it easier to use with portable devices to include the portable DAC (Digital-Analog-Converter) that I use. And, I frequently entangled the longer, 10-foot cord in the settings I typically use my headphones where as the shorter cord alleviated that problem. As the item was from Sennheiser, the quality was the same as my 10-foot cord. The five-star rating was an easy one to make.

This cable seems more substantial than the original Sennheiser HD600 cable, and the shorter length is much more manageable. As for sound quality, it seemed that the high frequencies are more pronounced, but I'm sure that's a placebo effect. The plugs are a little too difficult to remove to do extensive A/B testing.

I've had 2 of these cables start crackling / cutting out on me in one ear. This doesn't happen with my other wired headphones. It's frustrating to have this happen when the cable is so expensive.

Not totally convinced that these are actually made by Sennheiser as all the cable end connectors are slightly different than my OEM (HD600) cable. But the quality seems good and the connectors that go into the ear cups seem to fit and hold with the appropriate snugness. The cable is slightly beefier than the OEM but still reasonably supple. This is the length cable that should have come with my HD600's. I have no idea why the OEM cable was so long (9+ feet!)- a short cable should come standard and a long cable should be the upgrade/option. But I digress. I knocked off a star because of A) the price, which seems a little expensive for what it is and B) I can't use the OEM 1/8" to 1/4" adapter and this doesn't come with one (which really is not that big of a deal).

I purchased the cable as an addition to the cables that came with my HD660 S headphones. I wanted some lighter and easier cables to connect to my iPad/iPhone, they are perfect for this. I have not noticed any difference in the sound quality, when using these cables compared to those supplied with the HD660 S (although I have not done any rigorous audio tests). The cable comes directly wired to a 3.5 mm plug. A screw on 6.35mm adaptor is also included. I like the 3.5mm wiring because it fits directly into my iPad without any snagging due to the iPad's protective cover. They are more expensive than some other cables, but they are genuine and the sound quality and spatial performance seem good to me.

Good for connecting to cellular, when out and about without having to use the adapter and without having surplus cable. Quality seems fine. My only issue is that you have to squeeze quite hard to connect them to the headphones, and there is no satisfying click, when they are connected - it just gets progressively harder to push them in any further.

cord length is just right for my use (plugging in at desktop headphone amp) but may be too short for some. You could always get an extension.

This a great value product! I bought this to replace a basic (£8.00) headphone extension cable, the improvement in sound quality is terrific. Highly recommended!

The 2-prong plug body didn't have the exact same right-left moulded keying my 2003 Sennheiser HD580. However, the material was complaint enough get a good, solid friction fit into the driver enclosures. These are not popping out anytime soon. Note: The prong spacing on the connectors was correct unlike some copycat cheap cables I've had the misfortune of purchasing. The cable jacket and driver connectors are quite thicker than the ones that originally come with the HD580, so I'm hoping for better durability than the short lived, fragile OEM provided cable.
