Good buy
I am new at sketching and bought this pad to use for difficult stuff. I am trying to limit the number of times I erase so the erasure marks do not show. I got the pad yesterday and have used it quite a bit already. This pad is as advertised. It is black, thin, 9x12, looks well built, and is very light weight. There is a button to turn the back light on and I plug it into one of the USB ports on my laptop. I noticed when I plugged it in that the USB end that plugs into the computer is tight. I had to really push to get it to go in. This model was the lowest priced on the Amazon page, but I wanted to test it before I considered buying a higher priced model. This one does not have a lot of bells and whistles. It turns on, has a nice light, and does what I need. I may be too new at this to realize what I am missing by buying this simple one. The pad does not turn off on its own; you have to press a button. The paper I laid directly on the glass did not slide or move on its own. It stays unless you manually lift the paper and remove it. To trace something, you have to have the image on a piece of paper that you can then place on the glass. So I found the image, printed it using my PC printer, and then used the pad to trace it onto the sketch paper. The tracing was easy. I kept my touch light to prevent damage to the glass. The touch is light. This is good for sketching, but the on/off switch turns off easily if your arm or hand touches it. I will update this in a month or so after I have used it more.

Useful, portable, affordable light box - I should have bought years ago.
Amazingly useful light box (really more of a light tablet). I purchased this to transfer drawings from paper photocopies to card stock or construction paper. I then use the heavy card stock as patterns for cutting out clay slabs, or for cutting out fabric for crafts. It works perfectly for that, ideally with white card stock that allows the light to shine through. Previously, I had been doing this either by holding the image and card stock up to a big window (very awkward), or by using tracing paper - which is tedious to cut out and does not hold up well to wet clay! So this device is a big upgrade at a very affordable price. Since it is so convenient, I use it for random office tasks too, like overlaying multiple sheets of text to fit on 8.5 x 11" paper. The ruler markings on two sides of the light box are handy for this. There are 2 brightness settings, but I prefer the most light for drawing & tracing. The on/off button is a touch area rather than an actual button, and I have found it easy to use with a light touch. It seems well made and solid enough on a table. I recommend being careful with the tiny port for the charging cable, since usually those tiny ones are fragile. The light box is very light weight and portable. I will need to be more careful with the light box than my usual habits since it is such a light plastic - no leaving it out on the sofa. I probably wouldn't throw it in a backpack either without something like heavy cardboard or poster board to surround it and prevent bending or cracking. No USB charger is included but it works fine with all of the USB chargers I already have. I keep my light box and cable in a neoprene 16" laptop case that just happens to fit it, and keeps the box protected from scratches, dust, and my adorable but pesky cat that loves to chew on plastic. If some feline "accident" befalls this light box, I will definitely purchase it again.

Excellent product! Great quality at a great price. Highly recommend!!
Phenomenal product! I know that there are many different types out there, but this is the one I bought...and I am extremely pleased! As an FAA-certified drone pilot, I was looking for a way to better advertise my drone business. I created a QR code which leads directly to my website, but didn't know how to put it on my truck - to advertise. I even created and 3-D printed a roughly 6"x6" QR code, but still unaware of how to 'attach' it to the truck. Then I thought - why not have the large QR code on paper, inside my back window - so people can scan it if they want to. But my windows are tinted, so I knew it wouldn't be visible.I decided to try to build some sort of light box to tape it to, so that it would be visible through the glass. Somehow - not sure how - I was unaware of these light boxes. I bought this one and with the paper taped to it and the light on, it scans easily through the tinted back window - but is not too bright. I love this tracing light box! I thought it would be multi-layered, allowing for possible breakage. But this is one piece, with the lights etc. incorporated into it. I wouldn't say it's indestructible, but I would think it definitely would handle a fair share of abuse. The on/off/dim/brighten switch is internal, and activated by touch. This is a great feature - but unfortunately makes it difficult for me to mount this in the truck, because I would have to touch it to turn it on/off each time I drive. I'm really looking for one with a physical switch that I can re-wire to a on/off switch I would have near the driver's seat. But for what this product is advertised as - it is an excellent (and cheap!) choice. If I don't use it in the truck for my QR code, I will be able to think of MANY ways to use it in the house. I would definitely recommend this product!!
