Just as advertised
I questioned whether to buy this because of the few negative reviews. Well they must have used it wrong or put it in a pipe that was too big or something, because it worked great. I have a very nice drain auger and couldn't unclog my sink with it. Undid the pvc pipe underneath and stuck this in and turned on the water. Within 3 minutes clog was gone! Amazing product.

Easier to use than some reviewers describe
Glad I wasn't deterred from trying this by the negative posts. I'm in my late 70's and no Arnold Schwarzenegger but I was comfortably able to use it to clear a shower drain. I simply kept pulling out 1 foot lengths of cable and feeding each one down the drain. Whenever there was resistance, I tightened the lock screw, and clockwise cranked the drum handle, which jiggles the auger till it works its way through the block. Went out to 20 feet. Reeling the cable in was equally simple. Just kept wiping the emerging cable off and hand-feeding it back into the drum. (Separating the hair nests from the cable took a little more effort but was no big deal.) Nice gloves, too!

Basic, even more basic than I imagined
I cleaned bathroom pipe work of hair clogging up bends. It's a rudimentary unit but with gentle perseverance you can accomplish successfully. It did not come with any cleaning heads apart from hook end of cable!

Takes a lot of effort, but it works!
Had a clogged shower drain, a local plumber wanted to charge $450 to come investigate and snake the drain. Saved myself $400 and solved the problem with this magical device. As pictured, cleared out a golf ball sized clump of hair and hair product, which was at least 20-25 feet down into the pipes. The upside is this did exactly what I needed it to do for a very reasonable price. The downside is this manual snaking and cranking of the handle was fidgety to work its way through all the angled plumbing… took 45 mins of winding and unwinding, but after that 45 mins and some sore hands, success!I do recommend giving this a try before hiring a professional plumber.

Does the job
Works great but packaging was not good. There was a hole in the carrier bag so had to find another bag to place the product. Overall ok for beginners.

Don’t waste your time. Poor quality or sending out previously sent out products.
I own a 20 ft snake but it wasn’t long enough and bought this one. This is how it came out of the box once pulling out the snake. It was covered with dirt and clearly used previously and multiple bends in the snake itself making it impossible to use. Save your money buy sometching else.

got'er done
Use the right tool for the right job, correctly, and you shouldn't have issues. This WAS NOT made for cleaning out roots in a larger diameter pipe. Made for 1 1/2- 2" pipes. Learn how to use it if you don't know how. DO NOT force it to work. My 20 footer was too short to get it done, so I had to invest in this longer one. Crossed my fingers, and bought an inexpensive one(but not the cheapest "toy"!). I 'm hoping that I will never have to use it again, so why pay alot(so, yeah, not recommended for pros...). I got it through the trap, AT LEAST 2) 90 degree bends, and got it in AT LEAST 30' to solve the problem. It's not common for these small pipes exceed this length before emptying into a larger diameter, so odds are pretty good this will give you the extra length needed, as it did for me.

Be advised the price of this version is comparable to models with necessary features but lacks them.
There is no method of extending the cable beyond pulling it out by hand. Spinning the case only turns it. I failed to notice there is no trigger on it. The models with a trigger extend but not this version. Check the handle to see if there is a trigger, similar to a hose nozzle, or not. The best you can do with this is tickle a clog caused by hair or toilet paper. It doesn't pass a 90 degree turn either. This is only good for a short straight run or through a combo wye, (sloped/curved plumbing section). The cable is 35 feet long although I can't imagine it having any effect that far out if you did have a straight run. It's likely an extending version with a trigger and drill drive option could serve well on common household issues but be advised this is not that. The company provided how to videos obscure this.

quite cheaply made
seems to work fairly well thumb screw assembly is not the sturdies. it is a bit flimsy.

fixed my sink drain
Easy to use, maybe because I have a shorter one before, the short one (15ft) just can't reach to where the pipe clogged. This 35ft one fixed the issue.

Good price for 35' snake
Can is cheap tin, plastic handle is small and weak, thumbscrew is awkward and can easily strip. Only bought this so I could put the 35' cable in my drill powered 25' much better quality housing (just fits)
