Love my magmod gear!
I have 3x Canon 600 EX-RT II's, and have 2 mag grips / 4 mag grids. Depending on how much light I'm looking for depends on if I use these (for a wider, more oval light) or the Rogue grids if I want a smaller more circular light. I love and use them both. You get the most out of maggrids when you stack them, so I recommend having at least 2. As a side-note, I don't use the mag gels (bit too pricey imo) I just use regular flash gels and stick them to my mag grips / grids with little neodymium magnets. Save lots that way.

Overall better than the Grid2
I just purchased both the MagMod2 kit and extra Grids (original MagGrid) so I have both versions of the grids. Using them on Godox speedlights (rectangular head) TT685 and similar. This MagGrid (v1) is larger than the newer version (a tad longer and more rectangular) and will better cover a wider range of rectangular speedlights. They are both made of the same material. The magnets on this original vs are smaller but not enough to affect performance. Both version stick just as strong to the Mag2 flash mount system. There is no marking on the original vs to show which side to put in on, but the marking is hard to see anyway and does not affect a thing. A spot of paint or tape will work "if" you need it. I found it not necessary. As others pointed out, any piece of thin color gel will work between the grid and adapter. No need to buy the overpriced dedicated color pieces. Overall, I'm happy with the system and recommend it. Will cheaper products work? Yes of course, but this system is just faster to deal with, when you're with a customer and have no time to mess around.

My favorite photography tool
Using grids on my flashes changed the game for me, and the mag mod grids are the best. I used to tape a crappy grid to my flash, and that was a temporary solution. Investing in the magmod stuff has helping me shoot faster and not worry about my gear getting beat up. You just slap the grid on and go about your business!

just buy MagMod
Yep its nice! Works very well... Play with it unlit you get the results you want! I did buy the other cheeper brand and the magnets are less powerful and they pulled out. So if you don't want any problems with weak or pulling out magnets just buy MagMod brand only.

This grid is so good in spilling lights on a concentrated portion.

The magmod sets are nothing short of brilliant, fast and convenient, the stories are true though that their modifiers are heavy and can pull down some flash heads. Using them as off camera though is a dream. The magnets are far better than the rip-offs I tried. the coloured gels are more useful, accurate and have better build quality. No, they are not expensive as I expect these to still go strong long after I give up the ghost lol

These are very effective and I love the MagMod system and the way you ca stack their modifiers I use this with a mag mod gel holder

Expensive for a piece of rubber but still they do the job well.
