Size:2 Pack Regular Mouth | Color:Light Coral Before these lids, we were using Ball plastic lids with a hole, a silicone grommet to hold the airlock, and a silicone sealing ring to make them airtight. Eventually the plastic would crack or break, and it was fussy to assemble all the pieces. This single piece of silicone replaces the lid, grommet, and sealing ring! They are easier to use, easier to clean, way better looking, and double as a tumbler lid when you aren’t fermenting anything! For a complete lacto fermentation setup, pair this lid with an airlock and a glass weight. This will lower the chances of mold on your ferment. More fermentation instructions are coming soon, but for now they are widely available on blogs and other websites. These will fit on any regular mouth jar – half pint (8oz), pint (16oz), and quart (32oz).

A little expensive...
Pros:Nice color selectionFits wellCons:PriceSilicone does absorb odorsNot sure how the metal will hold up over time.I ended up returning this product and using a cheap, plastic version as well. Since I'm using a silicone straw to drink from my mason jar, I didn't feel it was necessary to have a silicone lid. There's no contact between the plastic and my drink this way. However, if you are looking to use less plastic overall, this would be the lid for you.

Great travel lid for Mason jars, as green as you can get!
Love these lids! I also have the travel coffee lid style. They (along with the jar of your choosing) are nonporous so they won't accumulate that soapy taste after repeated washing. The stainless steel bands are sturdy and easy to clean as well.

No flow.
Liquid does not flow out as there's no second air hole in the lid. Design flaw. Do not recommended.

two piece piece
We love the pair of lids, had to scrounge around for another Mason Jar so hubby could have his own jar+lid set up, lol. Thank you!

soft silicone will stretch for extra wide straws but need to break the vacuum
I found pyrex (borosilicate) glass straws to use in my glass mason jar mug but they were a few millimeters wider than the opening in these lids. The soft silicone easily stretched to accept the straws, but naturally created a vacuum when trying to drink from them. I used a sharp knife to make four tiny cuts about 1/8 inch long in an X pattern in the straw opening which broke the vacuum allowing me to drink easily from the straw. Definitely a winner as most other straw lids are hard plastic or metal and their openings will not allow me to use my preferred wider glass straws.
