Cool looking, and the sound with practice is great.
Very solid, yet heavy. Will not stay in bell, so hand support while playing. Takes practice, like all instruments.

Beautiful Sound Quality
I'm very pleased with the quality sound I achieve with this Harmon mute. It is noticeably better than the less expensive aluminum unit. So far, I have not had any problems with the mute falling out of my trumpet bell. This is a professional quality trumpet mute.UPDATE: 2024Still have not had any problems with the mute falling out of the bell. I will say however, that you need to play a tad louder to get a nice Harmon tone from this mute. Not a huge issue but might not be the best mute for a younger or newer player. I'm still glad I purchased this mute.

Copper Harmon
This Harmon is much heavier than the aluminum one I have used for so long. Because it is heavier, it has a very different tone- less distorted than the aluminum. Whether that is good or not depends on the sound you prefer. A versatile player may opt to have one of each type. Love the look of the copper!

Wonderful Sound and Fit
A wonderful sound and well built. Be sure to breath into your bell to help the cork stick. Take care if removing the stem while the mute is in the bell as it can pull the bell out with it.

Copper or Aluminum?
So when I first ordered this mute they sent me an aluminum one on accident at first. For a time I had both the Aluminum one and Copper one and had the chance to compare. The Copper one did seem darker, shakier at lower tones especially and high volumes. That being said it's heavy in comparison to the Aluminum one. On the plus side this copper one had a coating on the outside that maintained the shiny penny like finish. I love the way the mute sounds but would have after the fact likely gone with the Aluminum for the price sound and weight. The Aluminum one sounds authentic and will stay in your bell much nicer I'd say for a good bit cheaper. If you haven't tried either of the two consider the original Harmon sound.

Sounds Great
My younger boy plays the trumpet and loves experimenting with sound. He enjoys this mute and really likes that it can be manipulated to produce multiple tones. The aluminum is a bit fragile, and it has sustained a couple small dings, but not enough to impact the sound.
