Great price, works perfectly
Bought this to plane down an 11’ slab of ash that I’m making into a desk and coffee table. My first time trying to use a live edge. I spent a good part of yesterday sanding one side with 36 grit in my belt sander before deciding to get this bottom cleaning bit in the afternoon for the other side. With prime shipping, it was on my doorstep by noon today (a Sunday during a holiday weekend)! Built a sled jig out of scrap 3/4” plywood and was off to the races. My 1.5 HP PC router had no difficulties and this made quick work out of flattening the slab. There were some ridges between passes, but those were due to my setup and not the bit. I would buy other bits from this manufacturer without hesitation.

Poor mans planer
Product worked very well for jig planing a board to get rid of imperfections on white oak I was using.Takes a lot of material off in short time. Takes a few passes to get a really good feel for how to make passes without ridges. Overall it was well worth the money.I used a DEWALT DW618 router and I wouldn't go any smaller if dealing with any substantial material.

not 100% flat
I use this to flatten my cnc waste board, if you use too big step over you wont like the results as this isn't 100% flat. the coating also is hard to clean if you did an aggressive cut and had some burn marks.nonetheless its good for the money paid

Great inexpensive bit
This bit is a monster and lasts a long time. In fact I bought two because I thought an inexpensive bit would not last the duration of the project. I have leveled four large hardwood dining room tables so far with just one of the bits. I have yet to touch the extra one I bought. I will be buying again.

Does not fit the average router
Most routers take a 1/4 inch shank. This is a 1/2 in shank and will only work in routers made to accept a large 1/2 in shank, which mine is not. Make sure this works with your router. It is a very nice bit though.

U get what you pay for
It will do what it’s designed to do but the carbide won’t stay very sharp for long. I got 3/4 of the way through planing an oak slab whenIt started leaving circular burn marks even when I only took 1/8” passes with a 3.5 HP router.

Works well for what it is.
This works well enough to surface plane hardwood slabs. I can take 3/16" off of a oak slab with a 2.5 HP mid-grade router. It looks exactly like the picture provided. Don't expect speed surfacing with this bit though. This is a back up to a much faster four-cutter bit.

👍
I used this to plane down oak it did pretty good. Any issues I had, I think were just from my router being to small. I didn't have any issues with the bit itself.

Check measurements
Shorter then my other ones so have less adjustable space in my router to router more material off. Came sharp but still using old stock as they can cut much deeper.
