Pilon Cafe Instant Espresso Coffee, 7.05 Ounce

I have been a cone drip coffee maker since leaving the double boil cowboy coffee days. Last fall I came across some Cafe Bustello that was heavily discounted in a local store and thought I would give it a try. I thought it was smooth, not bitter, and would make a great replacement for the Medaglia D'Oro that I like to use for back packing coffee, i.e. no muss and no fuss just get it done. I went back and bought the rest of the Cafe Bustello. However, that got me to looking at other brands of instant expresso to compare. Note Starbucks Via simply is too expensive to even consider. I tried several others including La Llave and Nescafe Classico Dark (both these became a no thanks cuz there is better stuff available). Then I tried the Pilon. I found it to be on par and very similar to the Cafe Bustello instant expresso. Then during my research I discovered they are made by the same company, Smuckers of the jam fame. Apparently Rowland Roasters makes both for Smuckers. Mystery solved as to why they are both great and taste similar if not the same.

As full time RVer's, it is nice to conserve propane (i.e., avoid percolating coffee for 10 minues) or avoid firing up the genset to run the Keurig. We stumbled upon this instant coffee that we like so much that it is our permanent go to for coffee.

For people who like instant coffee, this is some of the best tasting instant coffee you will find, especially for the price. You’re miles above the Tasters Choice or Sanka with this brand. It’s a decent value for the money. Of course, it is instant coffee. So, if you are someone that doesn’t want to mess with filters and coffee grounds, you can’t do much better than this product.

I tried this after reading reviews because they were out of stock on favorite, Bustelo. Well, thank you! This is much better than the Bustelo! It is full-bodied, full-flavored, but it has such a smooth finish! This has quickly become my favorite instant coffee! I now prefer this to brewing a pot of coffee.

I use a spoonful of this my chocolate almond milk almost every day. Add some ice, shake, and I'm good to go. I also use a teaspoon or two whenever I'm when making chocolate dessert just to bring out the flavor a bit more. I think Pilon tastes better than other instant espresso brands. Doesn't have that bitter aftertaste.

This actually does taste like an Espresso Coffee! It Does Not taste like Regular Coffee. I can't Drink any other Instant Coffee after Tasting This. Buy This! It is EXCELLENT.

After trying several brands, Pilon is by far the tastiest.I put a slightly heaping tablespoon of coffee and mix it with a tables spoon of hot water then add chocolate syrup then about 14 oz of almond milk for an iced mocha.
