The Mysterious Mansion: A mind-bending activity book stranger than a fairytale

Only about half the book can be colored. I was mainly interested in the "adventure" part of the book. The detail is incredible, so coloring half the book will take a lot of time. Unfortunately the binding split while doing my second coloring page. I read reviews that mentioned coming apart, so I was really carefull.

It's gorgeous! It's more of a coloring book with a few easy Find Objects & simple puzzles....it could have been so much better....if it used the beautiful artworks in a better way...many pages are not puzzles or anything that furthers the "story"

Was looking forwards to this coloring book from Daria Song, as I have other books by her, and it is GREAT! Love’d it.

This book is pretty, but a few easy mazes, dot-to-dots, a wordsearch and a easy sudoku just seem silly. They just seem misplaced in the book. There's also a game and a chess board that can be played or not. Doesn't advance the puzzle and who are you going to convince to play with those cutout pieces that could blow away. I appreciate the idea of a puzzle book with these illustrations. I think riddles, codes and visual puzzles would have been more cohesive. I bought a used copy and one page was finished, but it wasn't a big deal since the puzzles are boring. Just wish they hadn't used a pink highlighter because this will be a nice book for collage.

If you've ever seen any of Daria Song's other books, you know she does amazing art work. This book is a little different from her others as it's not a straight up coloring book. This book has several pages that are already colored in but does have several for you to color in along with several puzzles throughout. I know some people don't like it because it is not just a coloring book but that makes it even more special to me. The pictures in this book are just amazing. I'm looking forward to using several different medium in this book. The size of this book is a little larger than her other coloring books. If you want to see pages inside the book, check out a flip through on YouTube. I did that before I preordered it and it was just as beautiful in person as on the videos I saw.

I read the other reviews. Yes it is different than her other coloring books. Still good. You can still do some coloring in it if you want. I will scan and print on heavy paper the game pieces and paper doll pages. Rather than cut out the pages in the book. I plan to give it to my niece with the reprinted pages.

I’m a little torn on this one. I love puzzle books and I love coloring books, I’m still just coming to terms with the thought of putting them together like this. I guess I expected a little more coloring pages than there were in this book. I bought the book in advance since Daria Song is one of my favorite coloring book illustrators. I appreciate the fact that she’s trying to step out and try something new, and I am intrigued by the puzzles. Just be aware that this is not really an adult coloring book per say

My copy arrived today. It’s a beautiful book.It’s not just a colouring book, there’s lots of activities to do, I read a few reviews last night on it & I was actually considering cancelling my order, I am so pleased I didn’t.There’s so much to do! From dot to dot, wordsearch, sudoku, chess, as well as colouring. Some of the pages are already colour. Some look like they are greyscale, which can be coloured. But there is plenty of pages to colour.Highly recommended book.

Firstly, I really enjoy Daria's other books. She has a great imagination and wonderful attention to detail. However, with this book, I was disappointed. Perhaps more than half of the book is already colored in. It's not so much as a coloring book as it is a book of games with finished images and a few pages to color in. Daria Song fans will want to be very clear that this is not her traditional coloring book, but an activity book with many pages you're meant to cut apart to 'play' with the pieces. A clever book but not what I expected.

I read some negative reviews of this book but this didn't sway me from purchasing and thought I'd share my opinion. The book is a paperback and although it may be better as a hardback, a bit of jacketing will keep it tidy. Inside it is a mix of colouring and activities like Soduko, word search and paper dolls to cut out, play chess and other intriguing things to do. Think of it, a bit like a mature brain teaser or puzzle book but much better and with a story. It is beautifully drawn and seems a shame to go cutting it about ... hmm might need another!!!

Like you I read the reviews and it seemed to be a great book. As Im fussy I needed the advice so ordered it. I got it yesterday but Im really disappointed. There are way too many pages already coloured in or with the main bits pre coloured. Then the puzzles also interfere with how you colour whats left.Like paint the door with 5 colours none touching...so lots of rules. Im so angry about it. Its not really a good colouring book at all. I cant send it back..Im in Ireland, but not happy with it.,

This has got to be one of my all time favourite colouring books. Not just by Daria, but by anybody. It’s absolutely stunning. The quality is amazing. The designs incredible and the thought behind it simply genius. Love it💕
