Commonwealth Basket 12648 Blue Ridge Basket Kits, Grans Cotton Basket, 9-1/2-Inch by, 7-Inch

Good thing I accidentally bought two of these. The first time I tried to do it, I followed the instructions exactly and ended up fraying my weavers beyond recognition trying to make a tight circle for the base. I had some round weavers left over from another project and started from scratch with the second kit. Using the round reed to form the bottom seemed to do the trick. Be aware that you may have the same problem - unless you want to weave a very loose base. Once finished, the basket is really cute and I'm using it in my sewing room to hold tiny scraps of fabric.

These baskets turned out beautiful. However starting the base was frustrating for kids between 6th and 8th grade. The prevailed however. It was also hard to obtain 8 kits in general. I had over 7 vendors send out of stock notices which they shouldn't advertise that they have them on amazon.

This is very good quality reed. It doesn't splinter to much. And it has a good thickness. I'm new to basket weaving, so for me this reed worked good. It was a good price and had fast shipping. It was easy to use once it was dampened, and also easy to cut. I would say that for the price it's great.

I bought this thinking I could do it.... but I think I need actual class.... and more patiences 😧 but over all everything was in the package and looks to be of good quality.... maybe I'll get it put together one day

too hard for kids to use.

This was given as a gift and was wonderful because it was a full kit. It was well received and I will be back for more!
