Cheap option if you like fiddling around
Good and cheap NAS, I put Archlinux on it and had all sorts of fun experimenting with it, running Deluge etc for months. At the end of the day, even though it worked well, I realized I needed something more powerful with USB 3.0 ports and got an Intel NUC instead.

as per specification, it can connect from outside home. but its required online account to access the device. online account is chargeable.

廉価なlinuxボードとして
本来の用途ではお払い箱になったので今更ながらlinux化しひかり電話用FAXサーバとして使用することにしました。。Qui's techNOLOGY Blogの手順通りで大丈夫ですが、ちょっと不具合があったのでPogoplug Wheezy Fixでアップデート初代機より性能が悪く、メモリは１２８MB ARMv5te 800MHzですがCPUだけ見ればraspberry Pi初代よりも高速でQNAP TS-110と同等、受信したFAXをPDFにしメールで送る、PCから受信したFAXを送信する程度は難なくこなします。発売元からは見捨てられ、フリーのオンラインストレージとUSB3.0付ルーターがあればもはやいらない子ですが、そのまま捨てるのはちょっと勿体ないですね。

Pogo-E02(ピンク)との共存
ながいことピンク筐体に馴染んでおりましたので、武骨な黒はリビングには似合いません。メディアへのアクセス速度は旧製品とも変わりません。家庭内からのLANアクセスはGbEなのでUSB2.0ぐらいの速度はでます。気になる外からのアクセスですが、フレッツ光100M/bpsで、3～8M/bps程度でした。USB2.0やSATAのくちがありますが、所詮、ネットワークがその速度に対応しておりませんので宝の持ち腐れです。家庭内ならば、ドライブとしてマウントできるので速度の恩恵を受けられると思いますので、良い商品だと思います。旧製品のピンクとの共存も問題なし。異なるアカウントであれば、見えるPogoも一方だけになります。同一アカウントでアクティベーションすると、Pogoplugのアプリから２つのPogoが見えるようになります。送り先も選択できるので、どちらの方式でも便利に使えますよ。

２回とも不良品でした。
昨年５月に１回目購入。卒業した同級生間の写真共有に使うためでした。転送速度は遅いが、スマホやPCからダイレクトにアクセスでき、良い物を買ったと思っていました。１～２ヵ月ほど後、気がついてみたら赤ランプが付いていて、アクセスもできず。電源を入れ直しても、緑点滅の後、赤ランプになって、駄目。購入店に連絡したら、返金するから、捨ててくれといわれ、そのように。その後、他の方法を探したが、コストや手間から、やはりこれが良いのでは、と考え直し、２回目購入。今回は電源を入れたら、即、緑点滅後、赤ランプ状態。購入店に連絡したら、今回は返品・返金となりました。ちなみに２回ともAmazonを通してですが、購入店は違います。電子機器でこんなに不良が出るなんて始めて、何か根本から問題があるのではなんて考えます。でも、ちゃんと使えている人もいるようで...。さすがに３回目は無し、しかし写真共有をどうしようか、と悩み中です。
