It works!
It works well. To avoid jams, just be sure to push down with a firm, even, continuous stroke. Don't stop half way and restart. Some people said it was hard to figure out how to load the staples, but it is rather easy and the instructions are printed on the box. The box also has a nice chart showing what size staple to use for how many sheets of paper. Sum: It's well-build, easy to use, and not expensive. What more could you want? (PS: I will often squeeze the stapled papers with pliers to flatten the bottom of the staples. That's not necessary, but it make it neater.)

It just works!
I tried another heavy duty stapler for half the price of the Bostich that came with 2 sizes of staples, but mangled the staples almost every time. Believing it had to be defective, I exchanged it for another one, but had no better results. I contacted the seller who suggested I try Bostich staples, because they are made of harder steel than the free staples that are given with their stapler. Still, no better luck.So then I bought the Bostich, because I already had their staples. With 15/16 in staples, I tried it out on a 180 sheet stack of 25lb wt paper. Wow, it worked, perfectly; no deformed staples. I repeatly stapled the same stack with perfect results. I like that the stapler has much longer lever arm which is helpful with this kind of a heavy job. For lighter stacks, you need different staples. What's nice about the Bostich is it has a window that shows the size staples that are already loaded. I had no problem switching out staples. The stapler has yet to jam as long as I was using the correct size staple for the size of the stack at hand. (People who have complained of jamming, probably are using staples too long for the job at hand or may not be pressing down hard enough to complete the job.)The only negative I found with this stapler is there is a tendency for the stapler to flip forward as you apply downward pressure on the end of the long lever arm with big stacks of paper. With smaller stacks of paper it's not as much of a problem because you can choke up on the lever arm.

Bostitch quality in a well-made, rugged stapler
This rugged stapler works great on documents from 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. It's mostly made of steel, and the quality of workmanship is exceptional.

Highly recommend this stapler for heavy duty use.
We are a blueprint shop and have 4 offices. We do a lot of stapling of blueprints and this is the only stapler that holds the test of time and takes the abuse we put it through. If you have a lot of heavy duty stapling to do then this is your stapler. We have gone through a lot of them over the years but it's more how we use the stapler than the quality of it.We aren't crazy about the Bostitch staples though and usually purchase the heavy duty swingling staples as the bostitch tend to break easily.

Works great. Easy to use lever. Adapts to staple sizes easily. Pretty good edge guide. Very sturdy.
This works great with a variety staples all by Bostitch. Very happy with this one. The paper guide is sturdier than the last brand I tried and is pretty good about staying in place. The guide will move if you bump it around. But, I'm very happy with the first several days of use. I've tried a range of staple sizes between 3/8" and 13/16" with no hassles! It's got a pretty easy lever to use too.

OK
Does the job. The old Bostich had jammed staples all the time, and I expect this one to do the same after a number of years. But I don't which one is better to do the same job

Best heavy duty stapler I’ve used to date!
The media could not be loaded. This stapler is amazing! It easily handles 80 sheets of paper. I have to staple through 60 pages of 60lb cover wrapped around a single page of 80lb cover. I make Flipbooks at events and need absolutely reliable stapling. So far, I tested about 40 books and every single staple went in nice and steady. No need to go fast, just a firm consistent push. Also, you MUST use the correct Bostich staples. The blades are matched up precisely to the wire size of the staples.
