Awesome carrier and the insert is a necessity for babies under four months!
Love this carrier use it every day, so glad I purchased this. Use it to grocery shop and daily around the house . My baby loves it and falls asleep every time I use it.And there is a reason they made the insert for the Ergo. It fits perfect for my newborn and I have used this since he's been 8 lbs (now 14 lbs). He loves snuggling and this insert makes him feel secure while positioning him perfectly in the Ergo. Wearing it daily (and right now!) it is a plush cotton that still breathes but adds warmth. Chasing 2 kids under 2, I'm not sure how a rolled up blanket would perform quite like the insert on the go. I'm mostly using it in temp controlled environments and not concerned about it being too hot like some reviews have mentioned. Glad I purchased the carrier and insert as a whole, my baby loves it!

Excellent shower gift for sister in law, now getting one for myself!
I bought this for my sister in law for her baby shower when she was pregnant with my niece as it was on her registry and it was something she really wanted. She loves it! She used it all the time with my niece (who just turned two) and is now pregnant with her second and plans to use it again. I just had a baby myself and am going to order one for myself. She and my brother both say it's comfortable for both them and for baby. I've had other carriers in the past but this one looks more comfortable and sturdy and my sister in law says it's the best so this is the one I am ordering for myself. If it doesn't live up to my expectations, I will update this review but my brother and sister in law rate it 5 stars and they give their honest opinions. If they didn't live in another state, I would just borrow theirs but since they are expecting again and I am purchasing my own from this same seller as it came in excellent condition and arrived quickly.

Great for dad or small chest women
Awesome product for my husband fits great! As for me the baby head tilts down into my chest because of my breast so I'm constantly have to adjust her head so she won't suffocate. Also wish it came with a travel bag. Other then that it easy to use and my baby seems it enjoy it.

No Back Pain. BEST carrier EVER in the UNIVERSE!
The first few weeks of babies life it is more difficult to carry them in it. This is the time you want to hold them skin to skin and in your arms anyway! But at about 4 weeks, this mother off all carriers is Amaz-balls. Hands down BEST ever. No back pain. And baby loves that he/she is right up on your chest. Baby falls asleep all day right next to you and you're hands free. I also have used it with my 2 year old. Still no back pain and he's way comfy.Bottom line. GET IT! It's worth every cent.

NOT MULTI-POSITIONAL! CUTS INTO BABIES LEGS
I like the ease of use for myself but it cuts into my babies legs now that he’s bigger(still in the size limits though, only 15 pounds) and is not multi positional like the pictures make you think. Not a fan...

Is good support. But for a petite person like me is too July and can do anything with it. I used twice and could not handle how big it is for.

Not as convenient as it looks
I had such high hopes for the ERGObaby carrier but now that we've had it for a few weeks, I rarely take it out. Here's why:1. It's annoying to get the baby in. Especially with the infant insert. I was under the impression that you just slip a baby into a carrier- that was part of the ostensible convenience. But in fact, I have to first loosen all the straps, put the baby on the bed in the infant insert, put the carrier around my waste, balance the baby against my chest and then close and tighten everything and finally release the insert strap. It takes around 5 minutes to do the whole thing and I need a clean surface to put the baby down in the insert while I put the carrier on (which isn't always available if you're out shopping or something). Also the baby gets impatient and does not like this process one bit.2. The head support isn't that great even with the infant insert. Our baby does not like to lean his head forward on my chest and the head support is not great: he ends up leaning his head waaay too far back and I often get comments that "he looks uncomfortable" in that position. Maybe this will improve with time (he's 3 months)3. It's sweaty and the baby claws at my chest. I always have to wear a very high-necked shirt when I use the carrier or the skin-to-skin contact with the baby will leave us both sweating after a few minutes. He also claws at me while getting comfortable and this has left scratch marks all over my neck and chest (I file his nails every day but they still manage to be razor sharp!). I've never worn this for more than 1/2 hour at a time because of the sweat issue: I wish there were a way to hang him in a way that provided some circulation between our bodies but I haven't quite figured that out.The few things that I like about the carrier: It's actually very ergonomic and distributes the weight very well. The pocket in the front is so useful. I also like the fact that it can be used up to toddler age- so we're not giving it away just yet. I have hopes that we will use it more once the infant insert is no longer necessary.

Easy, comfortable and convenient carrier
I bought this when I decided I needed two hands again:) I had a Moby wrap but could never quite figure it out, so I decided to splurge and buy the Ergo. I highly recommend this carrier. It is easy to use and comfortable. I started using it when my daughter was 6 weeks. I can carry her in this and walk my two dogs at the same time. I also always use the Ergo when I go to the grocery store. It makes pushing the shopping cart much easier, and unlike a car seat, strangers don't feel compelled to look and comment.
