Red, Blue, Yellow Shoe

We bought several books when my daughter was born, including several black and white titles. When she was about two months old, this one became her favorite. She's almost 5 months old now, and has a wider range of interests, but still enjoys this.I really like how the colors are presented as flat, one tone representations in the letters of the word of the color and in a small dot on the page, as well as a photograph. I'd imagine that looking at all the different variations a color can experience on a single object in real life will give babies a better sense of the concept.

I am a retired early childhood educator. These books are a must have! Vivid. Great learning “tool”. First book for my two new grandsons.

This is an excellent book for learning colors and object recognition. The colors are accurate and the objects are basic ones for young toddler to know - shoe, leaf, flower, etc. My 3-month old enjoys looking at the simple pictures, but it will still be useful in a year when he's learning words and colors.

So many books nowadays drown the child in information, pictures, characters, action....This one is so refreshingly simple. According to my boy, everything is blue, so I am hoping this book will help him distinguish the various colors. Love all books from Tana Hoban. The black and white infant books are also great, and my boy still picks them up every now and then, even though he is now 21 months.

As my son grew older and more interested in colors, I looked for a book that would delight him as much as "Black on White" (also by Tana Hoban) had when he was an infant. I thought this book would fill that description, but it didn't quite fit the bill. It has great photographs, but no text.Despite the catchy, rhyming title, each page shows only a picture of the item: No rhyming text is involved. Although my son likes the brightly colored pictures, he is more interested when I read books with rhythmic texts, such as "Blue Hat, Green Hat" by Sandra Boynton.

Great book for young ones. Hard pages so can't be torn. Recommend.

Questo libro è fantastico per i più piccini! Ho iniziato a leggerlo alla mia piccola da quando aveva 3 mesi ! Le immagini sono colorante su sfondo bianco , così che man mano che il piccolo sviluppa la vista riesce facilmente a metterle a fuoco. Io L ho comprato in inglese così le leggo i colori in lingua e li ripeto anche in italiano. Mi soffermo su una pagina alla volta così lei ha il tempo di guardarla bene indicando l’oggetto da guardare e dicendo il nome . Lei lo trova molto interessante !

Libro carino, ogni pagina ha una foto di oggetto noto (sveglia, scarpa, foglia, arancia, orsetto, piuma, gatto nero, coniglio bianco). Il mio bambino però apprezza di più quello "White on black" della stessa autrice. Non lo ricomprerei.

Foto realistiche e un po' vintage, non presenta troppe immagini ma una soltanto per ogni colore. Cartonato e perfetto per i bambini nel loro primo approccio ai libri. Consigliatissimo!
