I am fairly certain this is the first review that I have ever written, and I do so because I feel compelled to.I have had my Suunto Ambit 1 for a very long time, and put more miles on it than I can honestly comprehend. A couple weeks ago, the retainer loop (for the extra band) broke and then within a couple weeks, the strap itself began tearing at the position the buckle sits on the opposing strap. So I really needed to replace it.I looked around for a bit, because it seemed difficult finding a band for the Series 1 Ambit. This band had good reviews and was priced reasonably, so I figured I'd give it a shot.I have to say that my initial impressions of the band were astounding! I couldn't believe how soft it felt, especially being plastic. It was very easy and straight forward to install and I 'really' appreciate the fact that it came with the tool needed for the job. I have now had this band on for a week or so, and I must say that it is really incredible. I enjoy it so much more than the original band. The comfort is top notch and the fit is perfect. The buckle positions happen to be better suited for my wrist, so it fits really, really well.I highly recommend!

I bought this to replace the band on my 1st gen Suunto Ambit. I am happy with my purchase. If I could give a half star I would give it 4.5 stars. I've used it now for over two weeks and it feels durable and comfortable. It is a bit thinner than the original and the material seems slightly more flexible. I love the 2nd band retention loop. The included torx screwdriver is a nice touch as well. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the fit is not 100% matched to my old watch. There is a tiny hardly noticeable gap around the GPS antenna. I get the feeling that is because there were subtle changes to the shape between the Ambit 1, 2 and 3 models. When I first put it on I was worried. But it has held up and functioned well. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Perfect fit for a Suunto Ambit 3 Sport. The screw driver came in handy. It does not come with new screws so make sure you save the ones your watch came with.Update: 31-Jul-2018 The band broke two months ago. Apparently Suunto screwed up with their original band. This aftermarket version was also faulty. Suunto realized they screwed up on their original band and released a new version. Do not spend money on this one. Buy the new authentic version.

The cheap price is reflected by the product. Mine arrived quickly and in good condition. It has a little tool set to change the strap - which was a little fiddly but not very difficult. The strap is nowhere near as well made as the original Suunto (a little worrying given that the thick Suunto strap just degraded and snapped after 3 years). This strap is thinner and far less tactile. The buckle is fairly cheap and I have low confidence that it will give a long period of Service. Time will tell. I'm not disappointed - as it was much cheaper than the crazy Suunto price but this is not a top class product.

I ordered this as a replacement strap for my Suunto Ambit 2 because Suunto didn't want to replace the second strap they'd sent. Strap feels really good and looks to be sturdier than the original because of the 2 looping straps. My only concern is that the strap doesn't set as snuggly around the watch(where it attaches) as the original and I hope that because of this it won't add added stress on the watch body. Time will tell if it's meant to be used on a Ambit 2 as the title says. I'll keep you posted.

Bought this to replace a 1.5yr old original Ambit 2 band. I expected much better from Suunto on the original band so I opted for an after market replacement.Unlike some other reviewers, I found that this band fits better than the original, it is thinner and lighter which hopefully doesn't make it less bomber. I really like that it has two band holders. I also like how this purchase came with a screwdriver, which worked well.Two quick tips... 1. This purchase does not come with new screws. I just reused my old ones. For some reason I thought I would get new screws. 2. There are two hexagonish shaped metal nuts that hold the screws in place on the bottom band that wraps around the gps bump. They both slid out when I removed the screws. Just be careful not to lose those.Happy adventuring.

I decided to take a gamble and order an off-brand watch strap for my Suunto Ambit Peak 3. I generally order one every six months or so. This can be expensive as they are usually $60 on the Suunto website. Upon opening this product, I could immediately tell the quality of rubber/silicone is not equal in elasticity and thickness. Another explanation, it is thinner in thickness, not width and more rigid. I will be surprised if this band lasts more than 45 days. It is my recommendation to not attempt to save $25, but to pay $60 and order direct from Suunto.

Update: The band lasted almost exactly 5 months. I came back from a run this morning, was taking the watch off, and the metal clasp flew off the end of the band. Now that I have the screw driver, maybe I'll buy a Suunto band.I have an Ambit2 and this replacement band is not quite the same size as the original. I was able to get the band on with a bit of work. I think the band is actually more comfortable than the original band. 4 stars instead of 5 because it's not exactly the same size, in particular around the GPS sensor, as the original band.
