Smells like berry but not strong

Q: Should this conditioner be applied to scalp, even with oily prone scalp? It mentions scalp conditioning but Ive read to not apply conditioner to scalp

I have dry hair and not an oily scalp. I apply to the scalp and work it into the hair. I have short chin length hair. I am very satisfied with this product for my hair.
