Miracle worker, this is the one true rust converter
This stuff is amazing, bar none. And really, the price isn't bad when you consider the price of buying the ingredients separately and mixing it yourself would only save you a few bucks per gallon and probably not work as well. Basically this consists of ~%35 phosphoric acid, ~%5 citric acid, and some surfactants (alcohol and NP9.5) to help the solution penetrate the rust and scale. The citric acid helps dissolve the loose rust and make it water soluble, and the phosphoric acid reacts with the rust (iron oxide) converting it into iron phosphate, which is actually an anti-rust coating that is commercially applied to some steel products. If you prep properly by removing the loose rust and paint and making sure the surface is free of oils, you'll end up with all the rusty brown spots turning a satisfying black color, and the excess acid drying up to a white powder. Then you just rinse off the excess and optionally paint to protect the bare steel that didn't get converted. I bought this after watching a YouTube video that compared most of the "rust converting" products on the market, including the primers, aerosols, and acids. This blew the competition away. I had to try it for myself and I'm glad I did! You should wear gloves and eye protection while using it, as while it's the consistency of soapy water and comes in a household spray bottle, the spray will definitely sting your eyes, and if some spray dribbles out of the bottle onto your hands you can feel it dissolving the top layers of your skin like bleach (your fingers get slippery). However, it doesn't stink and it washes off easily with water. Note that this is not a "quick fix", the solution takes one to three days to convert the rust, and on heavily rusted objects you may need to apply two or three times, allowing the solution to dry in-between. But the results are amazing. My bottle saved a totally trashed wheelbarrow, protected another wheelbarrow that was starting to rust in the basket, fixed up my super rusty cast iron digging bar that I've had to previously grind every year, and cleaned up a bunch of rusty lug nuts, wheel mounts, and rims on an old car. And I still have 1/3 bottle left. I still plan to paint most of those objects for extra protection, but I'm a believer and will definitely be buying this again in the future. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some rusty lawn furniture and tools to hit next.

Wonderful--but keep it away from plastic!
Nearly magically, but make sure it doesn't drip on to plastic items. (It removed the paint from a bumper plate on my vehicle--learn from my mistake.)

works good but be careful
DON'T GET ON PAINT!!!! Does a good job on rust but don't get it on any surface that you don't want to get messed up, especially paint. The directions are not nearly clear enough about this - it should say will wreck paint, not dull or slightly discolor. Customer support is poor

Worked great and goes along way
It works. Very thin so spreads great and goes far.

Clean trash can
It eats through rust so it wipes off easily with a scouring pad. No elbow grease needed.

Rust Treatment Worked, Paint not so well
Nice easy application. I used spray and brush on a very rusted snow blower. It converted the rust but also peeled an existing cheap paint job at the wire brush marks and along bare edges of the paint. Needed 2-3 applications due to the amount of rust so I ended up having to chase peeling and blistering paint. Had to finally call it good but had no intention of chasing so much bare metal. Be careful with a wire brush on nearby paint. You have to be patient with applying, rinsing and drying.

Rust Kutter surpasses Por15 and KBS in every way.
It's the best metal primer before applying an anti-corrosive coating. It's significantly more effective than Por15 and kBS. I did a couple of tests on an old, rusty brake disc and a rusty file. Impressive results.

Great compound
While this is expensive then it has done its job very well thus far. Have used it over few years and most of it is still left: you don't need much for smaller areas. Another funny thing is that it doesn't evaporate: even a tiny amount will remain in the container where you used it from. So remember to use up all of it or pour what's left back in the bottle.
