Great bow for my 12-year old son
This bow is perfect for my 12-year old son who has a medium build. I got the 22-lb draw. We have lots of fun shooting our bows together. It is a valuable skill and teaches patience, breathing and one-pointed focus.

Great kid’s beginner bow!
I’m an avid recurve enthusiast, and I bought this for my 7yo daughter and she loves it! She’s used to shooting her 25# Bear Brave compound bow, so I opted for the 12# limbs for an easy transition to recurve, as the draw weight feels about the same between the two. The quality is pretty great for the price, and it’s easy for her to assemble and take down all on her own. I bought her 30in carbon arrows (600), and with turkey feather fletching, and they’re a perfect match for her draw length with this bow.I can’t stress enough that this bow, like recurves in general, loves actual feather fletched arrows. It’s a ‘must’ if you want to get the most out of the shooting experience!Overall, this is a great bow for the kiddo to enter the world of recurve archery, and to be able to tackle the 3D range with the big kids (me ;) )!

The little bow that could and keeps going!
For a 5 star score I must note that this is a BEGINNERS bow, and clearly targeted for kids.I bought both a #16 and 22# bow for my family. Half the time I shoot I find myself grabbing the 16# bow. It's just so easy to use, I can shoot it all day and not get tired. I used the little bow that could out to 30 yds, before it began to struggle. 20 yds it will do all day. I do recommend fletched arrows if you shoot of the shelf, and some felt or fur for the shelf. If you add the arrow guides you can use either type of vane. The best arrow guide is the type that thread in. The stick-on ones I tried did not last long. Also the shelf is not fully centered, so the arrow sits a bit to the left. It really wasn't an issue, but I discovered this when I put a T-sight on the bow and maxed out the sight to adjust for the left bias (RH bow). Don't let that discourage you because the T-sight was less than $10, so it isn't the best and the kids don't use the sight anyways. It just made me aware of how the riser was made compared to another bow I have. Also, being a take down bow, you can buy limbs in other weights rather than buy a whole new bow. I believe (not positive, since I haven't tried it) the riser is the same for both the 54" and 62" bow, but not the 66". If it is, I think I can buy the longer limbs and eventually take this up to 34#, plus a new string. Although in all honesty, above 25 lbs, I probably want to buy a whole new bow...Oh, don't waste time adding "finger savers." The string is actually a nice thick quality and it's almost impossible to get those things on. I've only been able to get those onto cheaper quality strings. If the kids fingers get raw, I'd recommend gloves or finger tabs.I strongly recommend this bow for kids or beginners, they are just easy to use. The 16# bow is my go to for warming up my old shoulder or testing out a new target set up before I get my other bow.

A real recurve bow! For kids (and smaller people)!
Definitely a kids bow - I mean that in the best possible way. The kids love it, it is light and easy for them to shoot, it is giving them confidence. It beats the tar out of the Bear "First Shot" (I like Bear bows, I have a Cruzer and a Super Kodiak, just not the first shot). Anyway, this is a real bow, for smaller, weaker people. Well made, looks nice, shoots smoothly. I like that the limbs can be attached with the thumb screws, it allows the kids to assemble with no help from me. Get a stringer for it (really please do, don't mess up the limbs), a glove or tab, and some cheap carbon arrows and maybe a nock kit and takedown case; with that kit, the kids will be ready to go and shoot with the adults.

Great bow! Especially for beginners
Great bow! Especially for beginners. Draw weight is prefect. Only gripe is that it does not include the arrow rest and when I mounted a pin sight on it, the threaded inserts pulled out of the riser. I used 2 part epoxy to hold them in. Remounted the sight and good to go.

Sons favorite past time
Son took up archery when he came to visit. Now he thinks he’s Legolas. Paired with foam tips on the arrows and we can practice at home now

Same Issue Twice Now: String Too Long!!
Wrong size string-- AGAIN!! Already returned bow once for coming with string that is several inches longer than the bow itself. String is supposed to be 4" shorter, not longer than bow. Now the replacement has exact same issue!!! Since the string bad is labelled as 54, looks to me like whoever kitted these put a 54" string with a 54" bow, but it this size of bow needs a 50" string. So frustrating!!!! Good thing this wasn't a time sensitive purchase for a bday. Friend recommended this brand, but I'm ready to give up and just buy different brand.

Perfect bow for my little lefty!
Got a SAS Explorer for my son and a SAS Spirit Jr for my daughter. She LOVES this bow. The fact in comes in left handed is a major plus. Did a lot of research on these before I bought them and I must say, I'm impressed. If you're on the fence about archery and getting your kids outdoors more, I encourage you to invest in this healthy, amazing sport that improves hand-eye coordination and gets them moving/thinking about their posture.Easy to string with a little instep and body weight. Accurate as the day is long. My daughter wants to custom paint the limbs and riser to her favorite colors and I believe this is the perfect bow to do that with.
