The lid is not smell proof. Put water in, tipped it upside down and water leaked right out. Nice jar but if the seal is not tight what's the point? Returning.

the bottle is glass, but the lid is plastic. it works a lot better than a mason jar, but its not smell proof. i didn't notice a smell until i put it in a fireproof safe for 2 days while company stayed with me. as soon as i opened the door to the safe the smell hit me in the face. so just know its not odor proof, but is more odor resistant.

I have five of these jars (three 3.5g, one 7g, and one 28g). They're exactly what I need.I'm using them to store various strains of a plant that is only legal in certain states (and I live in one of those states). My main goal is to extend freshness. Yes, I want to minimize the smell but only because it's a sign that it'll have a longer shelf life. Beyond that I actually enjoy having that delicious scent in the air, and I don't have to worry about getting hounded or persecuted for it so I don't mind that a bit escapes.It's true that they aren't perfectly air tight, but they're close. They're certainly better than the containers the dispensaries use. I imagine if you use the bags it'll help even more. I don't use the bags because I'll run out of them eventually anyway. Considering the price, it's a fair deal.The one fly in my ointment is the condition of the 28g container. It's obvious that someone used it a lot, then returned it. The logo on the lid is worn away (I've had three of these jars for months and the logos are fine, so it probably takes a good amount of use to wear it down like that) and there was a bunch of something weird inside it. I have no idea what it was, but it definitely wasn't the kind of herbs I'm storing. It had a pungant bitter smell.I didn't lower my rating because that's not the manufacturer's fault. That's on Amazon for failing to inspect a returned item before releasing it for resale.And lastly, if you're planning on using more than one jar buy some white wax pencils so you can label them. That stuff rubs off easily, but not too easily. They're perfect for it. They work on any glass or plastic surface, so you should get some even if you don't buy these particular jars.

I looked at a TON of glass jars and I read a mountain of reviews before finding this little gem. The other jars were much higher and price and loaded with hundreds to even thousands of reviews compared to this one. I am so glad I took a chance here! You can't beat the price for what you're getting. It's simple, black and made entirely of glass. I'm not sure why the other jars cost so much more, when the quality of this is so much better. If you are searching for a jar to hold your... seasonings, this is it. You won't be disappointed.

I absolutely love this thing. It keeps my stuff fresh and secure! Only problem with the larger size is that it can be difficult to get the shake out when you are running low. I ended up buying a wooden spoon to help scoop it out. Other than that, I’m absolutely in love!

The glass itself seemed fine although I wasn't able to see a purple tint which has been the case with several other brands. The plastic top feel thin; two tops has their glued inserts fall out and I hope they stay stuck now.My biggest disappointment was that they take up a lot of space as compared to other brands 100 ml with flat tops. The somewhat flimsy tops are rounded and wide, I fit these in the same spaces I've used for other 500 ml jars from the major manufacturers who provide a flat top.

I did not order this product for its intended use, but instead for apple cider vinegar. I use ACV as a toner for my fave and I keep it on my nightstand. It’s pretty smelly so I wanted a small, aesthetically pleasing container I could place on my table that would contain the smell. I like this jar, it’s cute and it works. However, it is not, unfortunately, leak proof.

Bought this as a gift for a good friend . He was so thrilled!! My understanding is this is the best jar he has ever had and he wanted to know where I bought it so he could get a few more. Definitely a nice buy and if you are looking for a gift to make a friend happy this will most definitely do the trick.
